Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday after accounting for 300 of Florida’s 555 yards of total offense in the Gators’ victory over Tennessee.
The 6-foot-4, 237-pound sophomore out of Oviedo, Fla. completed 14-of-20 passes for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns of 23 and 75 yards. He also added 81 yards rushing in the 37-20 SEC road win.
Fellow Gator Lerentee McCray was also recognized by the SEC for being his outstanding performance week three as well. The senior ‘Buck’ linebacker out of Dunnellon, Fla. finished the game against Tennessee with an interception and a subsequent return of 25-yards to go along with two tackles and two quarterback hurries.
Other SEC awards for week three include Defensive Player of the Week to Missouri strong safety Kenronte Walker, Special Teams Player of the Week to Auburn kicker Cody Parkey and Freshman of the Week going to Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
