Florida No. 3 seed in South Region

After falling in the SEC Tournament championship to Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon, Florida earned a No. 3 seed in the South Region in the NCAA Tournament bracket.

The Florida Gators earned a No. 3 seed in the South Region in the NCAA Tournament.

Florida will be paired against No. 14 seed Northwestern State in the second-round game in Austin, Tex. The rest of the region features features No. 1 Kansas, No. 2 Georgetown and No. 4 Michigan.

The Gators will play on Friday at 7:27 p.m. ET with a television broadcast on TruTV.

Northwestern State boasts the nation's highest-scoring offense as of March 14, at 81.0 points per game. However, the Demons rank just 291st nationally in scoring defense, giving up 71.2 points per game.

The Demons won an NCAA Tournament bid by winning the Southland Conference Tournament with a 68-66 win over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday night.

Northwestern State faced three SEC opponents this season, losing all three games (Arkansas 79-61, LSU 102-95 and Texas A&M 78-65).

The most common starting lineup for the Demons features the following five players: G Shamir Davis (6-0, 185), G Dadrian Harris (6-1, 185), G Gary Stewart (6-4, 197) F Patrick Robinson (6-5, 200), C O.J. Evans (6-9, 220).

A third-round matchup would pit Florida against No. 6 UCLA or No. 11 Minnesota.
