What QB's are we recruiting the top choices decide?

  • Cooper Bateman- He is choosing soon but I don't think we get him.

Ryan Buchanon-No idea where we are at with him?

Who do we have on the list after these two?

  • Ramsey is an UGA commit and Olson is about to commit to Miami soon.

Heys McMath is a guy I've seen mentioned a good bit. Asanti Woulard says he's been talking to UF a good bit lately. A QB from Connecticut who's name I can't remember.

I haven't heard a dang thing about Cord Sandberg this entire class. I remember thinking two years ago that he was going to be an elite QB prospect recruited by everyone. I haven't heard anything about top teams recruiting him or any camps he's attended.. Anyone hear anything on him lately, just out of curiousity?

We also offered that QB from out in Cali or Arizona, can't remember. Luke did a story on him I believe. I'll have to look his name up again but I think his last name was Smith.

There's also the kid from STA who I'm sure a "certain poster" here would love to have.. O'Korn is his name. I think I heard SOS was on him pretty good up at USCe.. Also Larry Fedora at UNC has him as one of their top QB prospects. I'm sure there are a few guys like O'Korn and McMath that will be options for us whe/if it comes to it.

  • I'd rate our board this way. Please help me out if there are some names I've neglected to include:

Despite his awkward throwing motion, I thought Skyler Mornhinweg's senior tape was better than all on this list but Buchanan. Be interesting to see if he improves and makes any noise.

Ryan Buchanan - love this kid's junior film. He's looking off safeties, making attempts at progressions. Making plays with his feet and slinging the ball around with authority and confidence. Like this kid a lot, and am hoping that he's serious about UF. I still think he ends up at that stinker of a program Ole Miss. With a decent camp, a take.

John O'Korn - I don't think there is any way we can overlook a strong prospect from a FL power program, playing in a great division, and from which we've recruited several players in the past, particularly with the kind of film he displays. But UF may be too late to the party. He also appears to be more of a spread QB. Displayed nice pocket awareness. I think he's better than his rating. I'd say a take.

Eddie Printz - I'd put him right there with O'Korn. They are very similar prospects. I'd give the edge in polish to O'Korn, but Printz is right there with him. I would say, however that Printz appeared to throw into tighter windows.

Asanti Woulard - Aside from O'Korn, this is the 2nd Tier kid who IMO showed the greatest upside. Sloppy footwork, but a strong arm with decent acuracy, escapability and strength to avoid the rush, and reorients himself to his route trees quickly after being forced out of the pocket. Keeps his eyes upfield. Drawbacks are that he is not polished like O'Korn, and doesn't play from under center. Drops the ball too low. He's a conditional take to me. Reminds me of a less polished Brissett.

Brice Ramsey - His film has pretty low production values and I'd definitely want him to throw for us in person, as I guess I would all of them. He shows good arm strength and decent footwork, but nothing that (to me) stands out and wows you as being a must take. Needs to camp. Not a take at this time.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhy-HvRDUpk

Tim Boyle - Another spread QB who showed a long arm and the ability to make plays with his feet but doesn't wow with the difficulty of his throws. Worth a look at camp. Not a take at present.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76BFyGZ_kRY

Kevin Olsen - Can make plays with his feet, but in NJ, against NJ speed on the DL. Nothing about his passing or footwork stood out to me. I'd place him below Ramsey. The production quality of his junior film was pretty poor, and he's certainly one I'd want to camp before he received even a conditional offer. Not a take at present.

McMath is probably on the outside looking in.

Guy will be a nice addition to our Scout Team, and could improve our reps. Who knows what Pease can do with him.

  • Ryan Buchanan
    Asanti Woulard
    John O'Korn
    Thomas( or another TX QB)
    Boyle
    Eddie Printz

IMO we miss on Buchanan so Woulard and O'Korn should be next tier. IIRC O'Korn should some good arm strength at a recent combine/camp. Not sure if it was Luke who reported it though.

Thanks for your perspective, and for the couple of additional names.
