    There's no conversation.

  • Full offseason of getting first team reps should help.

  • We don't have to have this conversation all offseason, and we won't.

    Why?

    BECAUSE DOWNVOTES.

Oh snap.. Be careful with those.

But no, everyone will get over this in time, especially if we close this class the way it looks like we're going to. That will bring excitment and spring will be here before we know it. Driskel will improve because the OL should, plus increased talent on most of the offense. Should be an exciting spring and a nice build up to the new season. Winning tonight would have made it better, but thats life. Second year with Pease, more reps, more talent, more experience, easier schedule, etc. We'll be fine..

Can you imagine if they weren't capped at like 4 or 5 a day? They'd be used more frivolously than... a thing that is used quite frivolously.

He was only a SO...had a brand new OC. Let him get a full off-season w/Pease. Only 3 things IMO that he needs to work on. He locks on to his receivers, needs to be more accurate & needs to get the ball out quicker. Our Oline played horrible today. Thank God Nixon is leaving its sad when your best season is when you are a FR. DJ will protect him. Trenton Brown or Moore too.

I wouldn't say he is a horrible QB.

However, I do think that he needs to improve drastically in every facet of the game as a QB. He does nothing "very well" IMO.

I guarantee you've posted more during the losses of last night and UGA than the rest of your membership time.

You're not some regular poster giving his opinion. You're the turncoat type that wants to try to rub people's nose in it after a loss.

That's who you are. If you were banned do you really think the message board would be worse off?

  • Man I hate watching everyone turn on each other in here for having different opinions after a loss.

Its a bitter moment, but I didn't see much last night for anyone of us to be proud about. Feels like we just took a years worth of work and pissed it away in one night. I know that's the disappointment talking, but I honestly saw nothing positive to build on from this, we were outcoached, outplayed, out hustled, out everythinged.

As for JD, I think what some of the critics would say is that JD is not someone as of now that will pick up this team and carry it on his shoulders to victory, even in those 10 wins this year which had more to do with Defense then JD. He can't read defenses yet, and that's not good this far into his career.

I hope every aspect of our team gets better b/c we just got embarrassed in the worse way tonight, and I had to sit through it surrounded by Louisville fans celebrating the most improbable and biggest win of their history.

Going try not to post much more right now, very very disappointed.

  • I may still be in the heat of the moment but I have some BIG issues with Jeff Driskel as our QB. My biggest issue is not that he has a tendency to stare down his primary option and fails to progress through his reads but how he handles the pocket. He doesn't move. I know most people will say that he does move and is a good running QB but thats not what I am talking about. I rewound the game multiple times last night watching how well Bridgewater stepped up into the pocket and into his throws. Meanwhile our QB is not moving, hesitating, and making costly mistakes. Not just mistakes like the pick 6 or the fumble but on plays where he fails to even notice a wide open target like when he had Burton streaking down the sideline and missed it because he was locked onto the underneath route. Then later in the game he underthrows Burton on what should have been a deep touchdown pass and it was 100% due to how he handled the pocket and because he failed to step into his throw and was all arm and the ball was almost picked.

I like Jeff and enough cannot be said about what he has done this season to lead our team to 11 wins. I had even previously mentioned him as possibly our most undervalued player because of how he handled the offense during those big comeback wins. I think he has all the tools to be a great QB. However, if he cannot learn to make reads, go through progressions, or learn how to handle the pocket his ceiling is not much higher than we have already seen. We will never be able to come from behind because we can't throw. I know our horrible passing game is not all Jeffs fault. Our OL isnt great, our WRs are terrible, and this is his first year with a new OC. At the same time though, those are all excuses and they serve as nothing more than a form a self contentment in place of realizing that our QB is far from an elite QB when it comes to passing the ball. Running the offense and running he is phenomenal

  • I've been a JD supporter but am losing faith. Maybe give my allegiance to Mornhinweg shrug Anyhow, not a big fan of Pease's game plan...someone please inform him there is an area called the MIDDLE OF THE FIELD and it's a great place to run seam and crossing routes of the sort. And BTW, that pick six was partially Debose's fault, didn't sit down in the soft spot of the zone, Driskel threw behind because of the linebacker underneath, at least that's how I saw it.

    Go Gadah

  • JD is fine we picked a QB and now they need to stick with him and help him progress. The problem comes in when the line is good and we don't just need his legs as much as a pocket QB.So he's got to get better and I fully believe he will.gators
