Mcintosh and VC comparisons??? Hes borderline big time D1 let alone nba... kid isnt playing the 2 anywhere...

What is your basis for saying he is borderline D1? Are you also the guy who said Larkin was borderline D1 a couple of years ago?

  • Well here is a bit more fuel for the fire:

    http://ukrecruiting.bloginky.com/2013/02/09/uk-assistant-antigua-scouts-2013-recruit-friday-night/#more-27370

And here is the beginning of this story:

"UK assistant coach Orlando Antigua made a trip to eastern Kentucky on Friday night to see 22ft Academy senior wing MiKyle McIntosh."

And I might as well include a link to a youtube clip of him:

  • I have no real issue if we see this kid as a SF, although I would still rather grab a Barnette in 14 who is bigger and higher upside...I just don't see this kid as a PF at the high major level....and his highlights don't indicate he is a PF at all...

  • I see Mcintosh as a 2 guard/small forward. I love Julius Randle. I have been talking about him for the last few years. He is the best player I have ever seen at the City of Palms. However, if Young comes back, Walker qualifies and we get Randle, we are going to have some serious morale problems associated with dividing up the playing time at the 4 and 5 spots among Young, Harris, Walker, Yeguete and Randle. If you go look at all of the videos on Mcintosh, you will see that the kid handles the ball very well, creates his own shot, has great court vision and finds his teammates for open shots. This is in addition to the highlight blocks and slam dunks. Mcintosh is a 2-guard at the pro level and looks more suited for that position than most players I have seen play for the Gators. If you do watch his videos, you will understand my comparison to Vince Carter. I am not saying Mcintosh will be at that level, but that is who he reminds me of. Now if anyone has seen Mcintosh play in person, please fill us in. In the mean time, the kid appears to be blowing up, and he fills a potetntial need for us.

As a SF, I agree 100%...Prather is gone after next season and DFS could be as well...I think he is a "power" wing....a popular position in the last 5-6 years...meaning a physically developed kid that has wing skills, but a thick/athletic body...those kids, if used right, can be very effective in college....I am warming to this kid....first we need him to visit and for us to offer

Would UK looking at him have anything to do with them not feeling so great on Randle? Or are they just looking to take a potential 3-4 year player in addition?

the latter...and it may not be as much looking at this kid specifically as it is paying attention to a rising HS program in their state that may have more big time kids in the future that KY wants to look at....

I think Bullis33 might be right and some of it is building connections to a high school. I also think UK would love to have him and recruit over him year after year. Whether McIntosh would go for that is another question.
