UF fighting an uphill battle for Agholor...

    Are you crazy?

That's been the word on our board for months.

    Hurricane Lane

  • USC lock for a while now. Barkley is going to throw to Woods, Lee, Farmer, and Agholor. Woah. flex
Is it weird that he went to Berkeley prep and his QB is going to be Barkley.

  • I gotta admit, Nelson has played this whole thing pretty well. Like other USC fans have said, he has seemed to be in our corner since Last Summer. He is a special kid, who is a great networker and has managed to become very close with a lot of guys all over the country. Its a fact he keeps in contact with a lot of SC guys, as well as guys in the Oklahoma program and obviously guys in his home state of Florida.

I've followed him more then any other recruit for the last year and he just seems to really get it. I wish all recruits could handle this process with the maturity that he possesses.

I know he has a lot of reasons to stay close to home for school, and im sure going to college 3000 miles away isnt for everyone but Nelson isnt everyone, and his parents sacrificed a lot to give their children an opportunity, I think he is coming out to USC to persue his opportunity come signing day.

Until then i've enjoyed getting to know about a really outstanding young man.

  • Excuse my ignorance, but isn't USC pretty much dunzo after next season?

No Barkley, not much depth on the lines, but still playing second fiddle to a couple better WRs... I just don't get the appeal outside pure friendship

How so? They will return four oline starters, at least one all american WR in Marquise Lee and one more if Robert Woods comes back.
They will return all Tight Ends, of which might be a Mackey award candidate. All three TE's will be playing on Sundays. They will return half of their secondary, all three linebackers with depth galore, and both dtackles.
They will need a new quarterback, but at USC quarterbacks grow on trees out here in orange county. USC will rebound nicely.

Winning the academic award in the SEC is sort of like winning the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still a retard.

  • Do you remember that famous quote by Herby on College gameday? "If any school can survive the loss of 30 ships its SC,because of how they recruit".Its no secret we're going to have to run like a NFL organization.Meaning some players are going to have to leave.I promise you we won't end up like bama and miami did during their reduction of ships.Coaches have a plan in place(notice how they're taking their time this year).Good Luck and beat bama.

The answer to your question would be no.

NCAA sanctions or not, the USC coaching staff has done an incredible job of recruiting to fill specific needs and redshirting to give the best chance of staying at or near the top.

Yes, losing Barkley will be huge and despite the credentials of the next USC QB, that will be a drop off. However, there are three solid contenders to be the next USC QB, all of whom will have been in the system a minimum of two years. Similar to Brantley replacing Tebow, USC will have a heralded prospect taking over - reason for optimism, but unproven.

Elsewhere, USC looks to be loaded. The OL talent in last year's recruiting class and the expected success this year should put USC in a position to have talent and depth throughout the remainder of the sanctions. WR and TE are loaded with young talent, although RB is a position where proven depth is a concern.

Defensively, the only area that may be a bit thin is interior DL, but that's not a glaring issue. Lots of young and reasonably experienced talent at DE, LB and the secondary. Plus USC is young and in great shape with both PK and punter.

And to echo the comments from other USC posters visiting your board, have been hearing for months NA to USC.

  • LOL! All they have is some "insider" claiming he has info that Nelson is a lean/lock/silent etc but the kid hasn't tipped his hand to UF or USC and he's NEVER given a quote to anyone. Those same SC insiders said Powell was a lock, Mamba wasn't going to decommit and Ellis would pick SC...give it a rest because some UF "insider" say he committed back on his OV. Only ten days to see which side had the true scoop. Until his parents sign off on Sc he's going to UF.

We have 3 very good quarterbacks on our roster right now not named Matt Barkley.

Aghlor wont havy any problems catching balls from either Jesse Scroggins, Cody Kessler, or Max Wittek.

As far as the lines, our OL by NSD will look like an obvious strength for the future.

Our Defense is getting nasty again, we are filled with young guys that I feel very confident moving forward with. Our secondary could really turn into a real strength and our LB core looks to be well on its way back to our dominating days.

As a matter of fact our only real areas of concern would be the Dline (but we have some young studs from last years class in Antwaun Woods, Christian Heyward & Greg Townsend jr. who all redshirted last year, and are waiting in the wings) and our RB's. We only have 3 guys on scholarship right now to play TB, but we are USC and we will be fine running back.

Besides 4 starters returning on the OL USC had a very good recruiting year last year for those positions. Even with the schlorship reductions I think what you will find come this February will be a second great recruiting year not only in numbers but in quality for the OL.

Also, what better way to break into a lineup than to learn from 2 all-americans. It is also a possibility Woods will leave next year.

Also, even though Barkley leaves next year USC can pretty much assure him that there will be a good quarterback throwing to him. Look at the progression of QBs USC has had from Palmer on. Reloading at quarterback has never been a problem for USC.

    The latter.

Apologies to you and the others here apparently taking offense at USC fans respectfully presenting information and opinions contrary to the expectations of UF fans.

Quite understandable to take shots at posters from another team's board saying what you don't want to hear. Very underrated therapeutic benefit.

    Best wishes.

Shouldn't it be about USC vs Florida, or another INDIVIDUAL school? Never understand the conference thing, we stand on our own merits, that's called being competitive at the highest level.

Besides, USC has a long history and tradition in college football, and sending players to the NFL. The Pro Football Hall of Fame has more Trojans than any other university.

Good luck to the young man, if he stays home, Florida is a great university.

opinion? none stated an opinion just flames. Not one quote from Nelson saying anything but what a "insider" thinks. I hear he's been a UF silent since the summer. i have no link but a insider told me this yesterday. lol

Yeah it's that. It's the constant back peddling and lack of information. Then, they want to all the sudden say they're not confident without providing any basis or information for the reason. It's a joke.

If you go back and read the info came from someone close to NA and he said that.

Hahaha, where did I diss any one of y'all? Nice try, buddy. I made a comment about ten of y'all answering the same post in the same way. We get it. You guys will rebound. Go look at my posts ITT. I said I like USC and wouldn't mind NA playing for y'all if he spurns us. So your whole post was a fail.

As a USC fan/student, I respect you for respecting us, Hillsborough.

Also, pay no attention to OkieTrojan Fan1, a member who gets a kick out of putting others down. Just the other week, on the Trojan board, he flamed someone because he didn't agree with his opinion regarding Arik Armstead. Basically, he can dish it, but he can't take it. Seeing as how he's one of the most disrespectful users I've ever seen, it's ironic how he has the audacity to say he's 'respectfully presenting information.' The word 'respect' should never be uttered from Okie Trojan's mouth when describing his actions.

link? or gtfo. People on ITG board say he committed on his visit but none have a link so it's bs imo. I love reading the SC board on recruits because they feel if a kid has a SC offer it's a no brainer where he's going or wants to go. anyway good luck with Tracy and Nelson. Go Gators!
