UF WR Targets

  • Looks like Stacey Coley isnt going to be in the class for whatever reason grumble

I don't think Marqui Hawkins hangs around in this class loco I'd be surprised if he does.

Demarcus Robinson and Alvin Bailey <---Who should've been offered a LOOOONG time ago... Seemingly to be next in line on the coaches board

So, if Robinson and/or Bailey fall through, who else is out there?....Any chance Taj Williams or Reggie Davis from Lincoln get more attention to fill out the WR class?

I am praying for us to sign..Ahmad Fulwood, Rodney Adams, Demarcus Robinson, Alvin Bailey at least

    kevumc

  • "atleast"

    Is that it?

I'm good with what we've got. As long as we add one more quality WR from the board, we've done really well at WR in this class. Robinson is who I"m hoping for, but it won't be a fail if it's not him.

Coley has some off the field issues, Luke explained it the other day. Our staff isnt as high on him becuase of it, if it were just based on his talent on the field we would be going after him HARD..

    However I think Hawkins sticks
and Fulwood + Adams is already a nice WR class
getting Robinson would be icing on the cake

Dont get me wrong...I love our current WR class w/ Robinson or w/o. But considering our current WR's on the roster it wouldn't hurt to add more quality.

I think Taj Williams and Reggie Davis would come in if offered and I think they would be an upgrade compared to the likes of Frankie Hammond and Stephen Alli...

Who knows what your getting with Raphael Andrades and JaJuan Story..

Solomon Patton is more of a utility guy, who I hope they find a way to get in the open field

Andre Debose, LaTroy Pittman and Quntion Dunbar seem to be our only hope right now and I believe Debose and Dunbar will be MUCH BETTER with Pease. But quality depth is lacking.

    Current WR Roster:
    A.J. Mobley 5' 10"/210/SO
    Stephen Alli 6' 6"/217/JR
    Andre Debose 5' 11"/186/RJR
    Quinton Dunbar 6' 1"/183/RSO
    Ja'Juan Story 6' 3"/206/RFR
    Frankie Hammond, Jr. 6' 1"/185/RSR
    Latroy Pittman 6' 0"/201/FR
    Michael McNeely 5' 8"/176/SO
    Solomon Patton 5' 9"/169/JR
    Chris Maignan 6'0"/178/JR
    Rapheal Andrades 6'0"/190/FR

As far as TE's I am extremely excited w/ Reed, Thompson, Taylor, Burton and hopefully Leonard

That would be our best WR coup since 2006 when we signed Harvin, Cooper, Fayson, and Justin Williams.

I think he should get some of the blame
maybe some could go on the position coach for development
after our WR coach went to LSU we haen't been good @ that position at all

  • Does Robinson have us as his leader ? and I heard we were close to offering Bailey pray is that true ? gators

  • My overall take:

Maybe we could/should take Baily as an ATH, instead of taking a 3rd rb or even a QB (since the QB's we wanted most are gone). That way we could still conceivably take 2 more big, tall receivers.

I agree theres no reason we shouldn't take the guy he can do everything and can be a perfect slot receiver and even play some RB. At the very least he helps us in our recruitment of Mcquay. Plus the kids a winner and I'm pretty sure he just won some award for best football player in Florida not sure on that though. I have a feeling if we don't get him he ends up at FSU and we regret it for years to come.

  • Hell yes we blame Urban. Who elses fault would it be at this point? Weis is also to blame for putting all the eggs in the Diggs/Agholor basket. That said, there is no way to saying that we totally missed last year. We should have already had guys on the roster ready to step up this year. Guys who should have been here for a couple years. That is on Urban Meyer, his WR coach hire, and his utter lack of recruiting and coaching his final two years.

Frankly, I think we'll come out of this year thinking our Wr situation isn't quite as bad as it looked. Pease, and a good QB, are going to do wonders for this WR corp. Dunbar and Debose should both easily have career years (won't be very hard to do) and Pittman looks promising. Guys like Hammond and Alli are what they are. Neither will be here next year.

I believe Patton will find his niche on screens and reverses, which is something Weis acted like he'd never seen before. We already saw Pease willingness and ability to get players the ball in the capacity that they're capable of contributing. Again, a concept completely lost on Weis. So, with who we bring in this year, a hopefully emerging Pittman, and another year of Debose and Dunbar, with all our talented TE's, should look better next year, especially with an experienced starting QB.

Guys, I don't think we can overstate just how bad Brantley was for starters, but also our OC last year. Weis was absolutely GOD AWEFUL. I really believe I could have called better plays for our players than he did. He called exactly the opposite of what our offense was capable of doing.

We had a Bad OL, so he calls long, drawn out passing plays. WR's who can't get seperation and don't know the scheme, so he depends on them to magically understand how to read a defense and adjust their routes. He just sucked ass, plain and simple.I think we'll see a heavy screen offense, a better downhill running team, which will open up Debose and Dunbar down the field. This year is going to look ten times more organized and better than last year, which is still just enough to get us to looking slightly above average. I think our talent on offense isn't where it should be, but also not nearly as bad as it seemed last year. One thing I know is this. If the talent is there, pease will have them showing and using that talent early on. I couldn't say that with any confidence the last three years. Not with Dazz or Weis.

In ONE SPRING, Pease has the QB's, OL, and WR's on the same page. They looked confident and well coached, and the scheme looked exciting. Imagine what more time, reps, practice, and game experience will do for them. Dunbar, Pittman, Debose, maybe Patton, and all of our TE's are talented. We'll start to see some of that talent this year imo.

This is irrelevant. Newberg or any other Nole fan that follows recruiting objectively would tell you that if UF really wanted him, he would come here.

I think the hand writing is on the wall concerning Coley, not just with UF but w/ other schools as well. His list seems kind of mediocre considering all his talent. Others schools maybe doing what UF is doing and backing off right now.

I cant wait to see Fulwood, Robinson and Adams on the outside with Taylor, Lane and Jones coming out of the backfield...man the future is bright...gatorsbanana

I'm in this piece. Been saying for the longest that Bailey would earn his offer at or before camp. I wouldn't take him over Robinson so I hope they both end up in O&B. IMO Bailey is better than all WR not named North,Coley and Robinson. I like Burse size but not a fan of his game. Armwood has been good to UF for years and sometimes you have to lay on the sword for the bigger picture. Ask Miami how Shannon f'up with BTW and Northwest(or Central..not sure which one) but they are still trying to get that relationship back on track.
