No way Humphries moves, IMO. That guys is a future first round NFL LT. I think Moore will start on the right though. My guess on the line is LT- Humphries LG - Garcia or Green C- Harrison RG - Halapio or Dunker RT - Tyler Moore.

  • This may not be popular, but I'll go ahead and say I didn't see anything out of Humphries to make me think he's a future NFL first-rounder. Future starter at Florida? Sure. NFL first-rounder? I'm skeptical.

  • I dont see Green sliding inside now that Brown isnt an early enrollee.

    LT: Humphries/Green
    LG: Garcia/Dunker
    C: Harrison
    RG: Halapio/Dunker
    RT: Moore/Green

He has incredible feet and athleticism. Only thing he is missing is a thicker base and added weight. If he can keep focused and work hard, he will be a great IMO.

No doubt there, the guy doesn't move like an offensive linemen. I just don't see the size or power to be a first-rounder, but like you said he's got time to develop that.

Who is/was the better HS prospect Humphries or Tunsil?

No idea, didn't get to see Humphries in person in high school. Humphries is probably more athletic and moves better, IMO. Tunsil has the better size out of high school.

Tyson said Humphries on Twitter yesterday, but that's just another opinion. I agree Humphries wasn't quite physically ready, but he will be after his stage 2 Dillmanization process is complete.

Maybe bc he was a true freshmen that showed up in Gainesville weighing 250....

All in all, this was a great read. Props to you, TG. And to Luke for this one.

  • Give Humphries some more time under Dillman. He is one of the most athletic LT I have watched and if he adds another 20-30 lbs of good weight he will be one of the best. I can see him playing right at 300lbs and still be able to have quick feet and power.

  • Lets see?
    jones
    purifoy
    humphries
    fowler jr
    ballard
    morrison.
all saw action - right ?
ya know who the center is barring injury
2 spots up for grabs with ankle injuries.
and a new full time lt and rt.
    so?
should i take people back to gubbs: nixson is sick looking.
    well ?
    now what ?

  • Mike Farrell also said he liked Humphries better. I think D.J. is a lot better coming out of high school. The only thing Tunsil has on him is size. Also Humphries dominated at the Army game against a lot better D-line and had better O line man in that game. Tunsil didn't even get the start in that game and the O-line prospects are not that good this year.

So you don't think he's a future first rounder because he didn't have the requisite size or power as an 18 year old, only a few months removed from HS?

I mean, I don't know if he's a future first rounder. It's really early and a lot can happen. I just think that's a silly critique. Attached below is D'Brickashaw Ferguson's Rivals profile. Look familiar?

To me, anytime a lineman (offensive or defensive) plays as a freshman, that usually means the kid's got stud potential.

Especially at LT in the SEC! If he gains the weight this offseason, we're gonna have our D Ferguson like beast at LT. His feet are so good, and his body is perfect besides the weight. Dillman will have him on the Peanut Butter sandwich plan this offseason, and he'll come in ready to bruise people in front of Matt Jones and KT, or stone DE's and LB's so Driskel will have time in the pocket to find our new playmakers. If people think the O line doesn't matter that much, go watch Bama's highlights for the last 5 years. It's ALL about the lineman (OL & DL), and then you surround them with playmakers. We're following the plan to a T.

  • It's a silly debate IMO. On one hand he was what the #1 tackle out if high school (a projection for the NFL, JWren) he played a lot as a freshman which says he's still on track. But you look at his freshman year vs a Maurkie Pouncy's I don't think there's a comparison of who looked the most like a 1st rounder. He's athletic and has the frame to build into a first rounder but he's not there yet.
