247Sports will have a rather large code push tonight and will take the site down around 1:00 AM EST for a few hours. They will work through the morning peak traffic hours to catch any glitches that may pop up.

The following is from Noah on the code push:

We're getting close to getting a fix in for the green envelopes. Along with that fix is going to be a ton of other user-facing and behind the scenes fixes/additions.

The biggest challenge was we simplified routes from the hundreds to 10s. This will help us gear up our performance, coding efficiency and site speed a little now (and a lot more in the Winter when we take time to prep for Signing Day).

We're also making some changes to images. Allowing upload from a url now that will not force you to upload from your computer to show an animated gif. It's not the end product and by no means the finished product, but it does give us three improvements: 1. upload animated gifs from a url and they work 2. the upload from a url animated gif file size is much larger than our current 1MB from a computer 3. The image thumbnails are slightly bigger & we're putting a little PLAY icon over animated gifs to help them stand out more (eventually, they will just play without clicking, but right now this is the next step).

Coaching pages will go live. You'll be able to see videos, photos, timeline events, articles, career and who the coach is recruiting. Basically a player page for the coaches.

Our admins will get some of their tools fixed too. There are more than 35 individual fixes going into this push and none of them are tiny. We'll do the push in the midnight/early morning and then work through the push and early hours to get everything running smoothly by the time more users join us in the morning.

Here is some more from 247Sports CEO Shannon Terry as he hints something new in the works...

... tonight the 247Sports tech team will be pushing about 300 new code fixes and updates to the platform. They plan to take the site down for a maintenance window around midnight. Maintenance windows usually last between 2 and 4 hours to get the site back up and running.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few bugs with the site in the morning. Our team will do our best to work through whatever minor bugs exists in the early morning hours.
This push has tons of publishing fixes and additions for our staff. We are also pushing coaches player pages and a few other products. Ill go over the list once the products are released.

I appreciate your patience as we work through this push. We are charging ahead to build a great product for you guys and look forward to these upcoming enhancements.

One last tidbit ... we are pushing the backend piece of an "Area 51 like" product that has never been discussed, but I promise you will rave about it and use it all the time. Going to be another game-changer for 247Sports. Once we get the backend pushed tonight, we will take a couple weeks tying in the front end development, ie consumer facing pieces of the product. I can't give any hints, but it is a doozy!
