Sharrif Floyd a better prospect than Ndamukong Suh?

  • So says Charley Casserly of the NFL Network. What do y'all think? I say no.

Definitely a better person, but I'm not ready to say he's a better prospect than Suh.

  • maybe in the league he will be but he damn sure wasnt suh in college

  • I think he can be.. He's more versatile and he is jus now starting to breakout if you will even tho I loved his game at Florida. I'm not a fan of suh at all.

Yup. I think Suh was ahead of Floyd in college from the standpoint of really becoming a breakout star. Floyd's best football is definitely still in front of him.

I think plays his assignment better at a DT, but is nowhere near Suh when it comes to affecting the passing game. If they let E loose next year on passing downs he may be a better comparison as far as pass rush as a DT, but I think he may have lost a bit of his speed after the ACL injury.

  • There's really no way to say he is, or isnt, considering he didn't get to spend his whole career @ dt.

    Also a good point.

  • Suh had reached his optimal playing ability in college. Floyd has more to go. I would say the ceiling is higher for Floyd bit has more to grow and prove.

  • I will say that Sharrif Floyd is easier to spell than Ndamukong Suh

You think he's the same player now as he was in college?

Actually, I would say he is slowing down some.

Suh's rookie year he crushed it. Drop off after that. Still great but less great.

    2010 66 Tackles and 10 sacks (16 games)
    2011 36 Tackles and 4 sacks (14 games)
    2012 35 Tackles and 8 sacks (16 games)

Suh is 26 after 3 years in the NFL. You are seeing his best.

Floyd is 20. Getting better each year. Floyd us not where Suh was Senior Year, but I bet he is in three years...

    Good ish, man.

I can certainly see it happening now that you've forced me to really think about it.

    +1

  • casserly is on crack, as usual

Ndamukong suh had one of the most ridiculously dominant careers in college at DT that ive ever seen, Floyd isnt in the same world as him. Dont get me wrong. floyd is nasty good, just not on that level, Suh had a once in a decade type career at nebraska

heres to hoping that somehow floyd drops to 13 and the Bucs pray

We will have to wait and see. Saying he isn't in the same world right now is stupid. Shu was 3 or 4 years older then Floyd when he was drafted, Floyd still has a lot more room to grow. If you watched every UF game you would see hom dominate Floyd is, he might not have gotten the numbers as Shu, but he is just as explosive.

He isn't falling to 13, he is top 5.

i dont think saying Suh was light years better is stupid. he was playing out of his mind in 2009. 80+ tackles and 12 sacks, he was a 1 man wrecking crew

i saw how dominant Floyd is, i usually watch UF if FSU isnt playing at the same time and even then i flip back and forth. hes also top 5 now because of the combine. precombine he was hovering around 10. you see it every year. werner was top 3 now hes down near 10. dion jordan is now top 3 according to some pundits. the combine makes sane people have crazy notions about what they see because a guy can run fast in shorts. combine workouts are the most overrated thing in the NFL. game tape is what really counts

i dont like any DT at 2, ever. to me floyd starts coming into play around 5-6, same as werner. unless you have a DT who is getting 10 sacks a season you dont take them in the top 5. its bad drafting. i do think teams are more likely to reach now because of the new rookie wage scale. you can take a guy a little earlier than you normally would because you dont have to pay them 40mil anymore.

i know floyd wont make it to the bucs but one can dream though right? im thinking we take trufant or rhodes since we have no corners anyway

  • Werner is ... NOT ... on Floyd's level. Not even close, should not be mentioned here. Scrimmage Bait Killer!
