  • Each year you give up a few speaking engagements and you push the fan further away. No one allowed at practice, move the gator walk up another 1/2 hour but actually show up earlier, don't let freshmen speak to the media.... Before long people don't show up at the stadium and then people wonder why no sellouts and everyone stays home and watches on their HD TV's. You'd think for 4 mil a year that 12 speaking engagements to fire up the troops would not be asking to much.

    Muschamp doesn't make $4 million, but otherwise I pretty much agree with you. It's a drag on him, I'm sure, but it's a dangerous game to play if things go sideways on the field.

  • How would Muschamp be in 3 places all across the state in 1 day? poor scheduling

    then the 14th they scheduled 2 appearances 2.5 hours apart

    giving assistants 28% isn't bad considering that imo...the 6th is really the only one he "gave up"

  • Technically, four are not Gator Clubs – the two in Gainesville, and the QB clubs in Jacksonville and Daytona. And with three of the engagements in Gainesville, the reach is getting smaller and smaller. The individual Gator Clubs that don't get Muschamp lose A LOT of potential revenue that is needed to run their clubs. Granted he doesn't need to do 20 of these, but I'm surprised he's not making at least an appearance in south Florida or the Panhandle area. And I'm just wondering if the Daytona QB Club is actually the Volusia County Gator Club. That's one of the most active Gator Clubs, with one of the best venue/turnouts for coach visits. It would be a real slap to to visit the QB Club and not the Gator Club in Daytona.

    When I was younger it was at the speedway, in the infield garages. Always had a great time out there, haven't been though since they moved it over to the hotel on the beach. Maybe this yr ill go

    Yeah, but as Marty pointed out, he has also decreased the area of his coverage -- three of the stops are in Gainesville, as opposed to one last year, I believe.

    I know. I counted 4 by assistants and closer to 10 by Champ. Pretty close to half, lol. Kinda like winning at LSU is a lot more likely than the "toss up" at Miami. We all know how Canes fans fill the seats.

    Calm down? What are you talking about. I see poster after poster bash you in every thread over your opinion, and I simply point out its another misleading post by yourself, one of several I can name, and u think I should calm down?

    I don't care who you got the info from, but 4 of 14 doesn't qualify as "half". Also, doing 10 speaking engagements last year, and 10 again this year doesn't qualify as "Giving up some of the engagements this year", imo

    But you're right, I will "calm down" and just jump on the train of mocking you on here that has been going on lately, and not simply point out that a misleading post is.... Misleading.
