One thing that rubbed me entirely the wrong way though was in his last year at UF, with Addazio as OC our offense was absolutely horrid at times. Those guys (Meyer and Addazio both) stood up there at the mic and insulted our intelligence by telling us we were not seeing the crap offense that we were most certainly seeing. I hope we never have another coach that insults our intelligence like that. It was a low point for Meyer but then IMO he had already checked out and was just going through the motions.

A quick question for you guys, sorry to get offtopic. Did you guys have alot of trouble keeping players healthy? It seems that Urbans practices are so intense, and everything is about competing. With that said, the players are going hard out there hitting wise, and weve had some guys get banged up just in spring ball. Did this happen alot at Florida? Thanks guys..

Amen and +1!
Nothing worse than the Daz telling us Mike Pouncey "graded out as champion" after his 3rd week in a row of bowling his snaps to Brantley. Blew my mind how someone didn't come in for him after 3 weeks! Or how Jordan Reed didn't get more time in as QB in that spread option system. I know he had problems with learning the plays but the guy made first downs happen. I know our record was worse last year but 2010 was harder on the eyes...

He wimped out. He came in at the perfect opportunity when Bama, FSU, and Miami were all a mess. When it started to look like Bama and FSU got their act together he got sick and quit. Maybe it was a coincidence, but thats a awfully big coincidence for me to swallow.

Actually, yes. That's about the ONLY complaint I ever had about Marotti. It seemed like UF always had kids injured in the Spring or early in the Spring. Mainly because Marotti trains for speed, and sometimes that doesn't fit well with grueling practices like Meyer has. JMO, but yes, a S&C coach can have a big impact on the amount of injuries.

As to posts above, it is not fair to say Meyer was a scum bag. Meyer was a great football coach. He had flaws. No flaws as serious as screwing co-eds on the schools dime, or hiring his hoes to work for him. No serious recruiting stuff like the lame kitten. Etc, etc. Also he did not drive the program in the ground. That is just silly. He left it better than he found it, which is more than you can say for a lot of coaches.
