  • Harden dropped 37, 12 and 6 in his Houston debut.

Hornets looking good tonight. Tied up 91-91 with a few mins left against SAS.

Yes he is. I got slammed on here for saying he should be playing more in the U.S. game against Spain. Still sticking to that.

What does he have? 21 tonight?

  • Poor possession by the Hornets there. They drop their season opener. Popovich is a great coach. Don't understand why Vasquez always picks up his dribble.

  • Wanna see what the Lakers look like but I gotta be up at 4 in the morning. Let's see if I can hang for at least the first quarter.

  • Man the Mavs were looking good @ Utah in the first half, played like shizz in the third.

  • Great game from the Hornets, who aren't really expected to do anything this year. Vasquez was excellent in the first half, and Anthony Davis is indeed the real deal. Jason Smith might be one of the most underrated bigs in the league. He's very good. Ryan Anderson off the bench?

I almost worry the Hornets will be too good this year instead of getting another lottery pick and doing the Thunder thing. Think this could be a really good team once our best player comes back, but I don't know if Gordon being back is a good thing for the Hornets.

Great game. I think I read somewhere that Anderson Varejo had 9 pts, 9 dimes & 20-something boards. That's old school.

We know Gibbs and goldfd think the Heat will repeat but who do y'all think will win it all this year?

And how does your teams look?

Once the Lakers get used to each other and "figure it out", they are the only team IMO that can beat the Heat in a 7 game series. They are really struggling right now though, and I think that could continue for the first month or so of the season. They will be dangerous come playoff time though. I think the return of Derrick Rose (assuming he's like he was) could be another threat to Miami. That's a pretty good team even without him. OKC is really going to miss Harden.

As for your second question, I can't say I really have a favorite NBA team. I root for my favorite players, mainly ex-Gators, to do
well. 10 Gators on opening day rosters. Only UK, Duke, UNC, UCLA, UCONN, and Texas have more.

Hornets should have let Gordon walk. He is a really good player but he isn't worth the money he commands. He will always be a #2 or #3 guy on a contender IMO.

I have a feeling the Heat roll this season. I just dont see how you stop them with the additions of Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Barring injury to one of the big 3 i'd say title number 2 is in store for Bron Bron.

They're deep and very talented, no doubt. But I think they can really struggle against LAL if they face them in the Finals bc of Dwight Howard. The Heat have no one who can defend him. Or Gasol for that matter.

Very true, and I think Noah/Boozer is also a nightmare matchup for them when you throw in a healthy Derrick Rose and the grossly underrated Luol Deng.

Yeah, I like that Chicago squad. Did they make any offseason acquisitions? Is Korver and Brewer still there?

Korver and Brewer are gone. They brought Kirk Hinrich back, and they also brought in Marco Belinelli and Nazr Muhammed. I wouldn't call it a great offseason for them, but still, a starting 5 of Rose, Hamilton, Deng, Boozer, and Noah is pretty filthy. Gibson, Hinrich, Marco, and Nate Robinson is a decent bench too. Rose has to be the Rose we knew pre-injury though, which is a big question mark.

  • I've been a Spurs fan since I was a kid and now a NOLA resident. Tough one for me last night. argue

It was funny to see The Big Fundamental take Davis to school twice right at the beginning, but then AD settled and really played a nice game. What was most impressive was his ability to hit that face-up 15 footer. He's gonna put up some really nice offensive numbers with that shot.

Austin Rivers was atrocious in Summer League and remains that way. The Hornets should have taken someone else. He really has to improve his game. Big-time.

    Iceman4423

  • Chandler Parsons needs a raise. He's a starter and played 42 minutes last night. 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was also +9 in point differential. All NBA rookie second team last season. I know he was a second rounder, but by no means should he be the third lowest paid player on that team.
