OT: Urban Meyers Contract

  • Was released by OSU today in case there are any legal nerds out there like me who find it interesting to read employment contracts!

    If he accepts a College or Pro Head Coaching job OR Broadcasting job within 12 months of leaving Ohio State, he owes them $2 million dollars.... (and here we were giving him a $1 million "loyalty" bonus when he left us to take a job 10 months later.) He is also prohibited from recruiting any athletes whom Ohio State has had contact with if he does leave to take another job (Would have been nice for us to have, re: Stefon Diggs)

    I would like for them to define "contact". Does that me they received a letter in the mail? If so, they could just spam all the recruits that are worth a damn.

    That Sporting News article (not sure how accurate) said he trashed us to Diggs thats why I bring it up... also he signed a LB from NC that we were after...

    Just pointed those two things out because they are totally different from how he transitioned out of Florida and thought it was interesting. Personally that is how I would have liked to have seen the situation handled, but I dont think that is the way Foley operates.

  • A friend saw Urban in Colombus a few weeks at function and Id that he lived in Gainesville. He asked UM if he missed Gainesville " No I hated that place". " This home". He then signed his hat "Go Bucks"

    Just saying as Don King would say " Only in America". WR coach - Colorado St. -90-120k less then 8 years later because of a connection to Bernie Machen 3.5million. If I'm wrong on the numbers I'm sure someone will correct me but there is no place home and that job and salary if he doesnot stop in that place he hated so much.
