  • Anybody who likes a good thinking movie has to check out Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Unstoppable was definitely good, didn't have high expectations for it at all and farrrrrr exceeded them.

I like that movie, Chris Pine is slowly rising up my favorite actors list.

I saw Immortals a few nights ago, it's a poor mans 300 and not nearly as good. You can watch it on netflix for free if you're a subscriber to Netflix.

The Hunger Games comes out in August, i recommend that to anybody who didn't see it in theatres.

The Gray starring Liam Neeson was good, that's out for rental.

Yeah, Unstoppable was good. Rosario Dawson is an absolute dime in my book. Denzel is Denzel. Although, I wasn't too thrilled with Safe House. Idk, Frost just wasn't that big enough of a bad ass for me. Man on Fire is one of my favorite movies. And the one where he's in the subway with Travolta.

Immortals was good but I'm a Greek mythology nerd so I'm biased as hell.

Hunger Games would've been ten times better if it was rated R. Haven't read the books. Even though, I love reading, I doubt I'll ever get around to those.

    Gotta check out the Grey.

Heard good things about this one. It's on my list.

Have you guys seen The Adjustment Bureau? I watched it the other week and enjoyed it.

    You'll like TTSS.

Adjustment Bureau was good, just a lot different than what I think of a Damon action movie(bourne). Still a good movie though.

You said you like to read, you watched Game of Thrones/ read A Song of Ice and Fire?

GoT/ASOIAF fanatic right here, man. I'm finishing up the Inheritance Series from Christopher Paolini now and then I'm grabbing book five of ASOIAF. Just finished book four like two weeks ago. It took me forever because GRRM really drug out the first 6-700 pages.

HBO followed book one to a T and then did their own thing on season two. Are you a fan of that?

A book series I'd recommend if you have a bunch of time on your hands is The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. You'll thank me after you've read them. It's better than The Lord of the Ring books and ASOIAF. Lengthy, though.

  • Haha, I'm about halfway through book 5 now. I agree with book 4, sucked that he didn't include pretty much all of my favorite characters. Plus it just wasn't as entertaining in general, but after book 3, anything he wrote would be a step down.

I didn't mind the HBO series trailing off on book 2, had to know they were going to deviate at some point. It's impossible for them to introduce the magnitude of characters in GRRM's world and still keep a regular TV viewer from losing his/her mind. To me though, there were some things they could've included that they just chose not to.

I've heard great things about Wheel of Time too. I enjoy reading a series, read Dark Tower series before ASOIAF, so I'll probably pick up TWOT when I'm done with 5.

  • Agree with anything following book 3 being a guaranteed step down. Book four was super boring with the Imp or Dany's entourage. Jaime and Arry kept it alive for me. Now I gotta see what's up with Snow and what's going on across The Narrow Sea.

You're also right about HBO having to deviate. It would've been impossible not to. As long as everything ends the way it should, I'm fine. Robb's nurse wife is the hottest chick on the show, IMO.

Didn't GRRM write The Dark Tower?

  • No, the Dark Tower series is from Stephen King. Not his usual writing style though, much more adventure than horror type stuff.

You'll immediately love book 5, it was so refreshing to see some of their names on the chapters. Oh and please edit out the rw out of your post, I know there are some on here who are strictly show-watchers and they have no idea about it.

Should make for a great couple of TV seasons though.

  • Can't believe nobody has brought up Breaking Bad --- season premiere is in four days. Best TV drama since The Wire.

Yeah it got picked up. It should be really cool how they are going to do it.

They are making a trilogy and doing a season on HBO in between each film to fill in the gaps. Should be able to cover all of the story that way.

Last I heard Javier Bardiem was playing Roland. I always thought Viggo Mortensen would make a good Roland.

And yeah GoT is film like quality. Wish they would stick tithe books a little more but the end result was more or less the same I suppose.

  • Not that I don't believe you, but last thing I can find it says Dark Tower is just in talks with WB. Can you give a link to make my day.

I will have to find it when I get home. I believe I read it on Rottentomatoes or IGN. Can't remember now.

At one point it was in limbo and didn't look like it was going to happen but then I read an article that said they had agreed to a deal and that production was set to start either late this year or 2013.
