Great breakdown. Fair, honest and objective like always, Keith. You are a journalists journalist

    Thanks ...

Like I said, I actually like Driskel quite a bit.

More specifically only regarding criticism of one player and in support of his beloved JB. Probably a family member because his last post is such nonsense it HAS to be personal.

I'm not denying that the first sentence is true, nor am I agreeing that the second sentence is plausible, because he does make a few valid points.

However, it is sad that opinions on this matter cause such venom being spewed at OUR players and fellow fans. IMO, it's no better to put one player down to pump up another - and that includes demeaning the OL and WRs in an attempt to do so than it is to summarily dismiss a fellow fan's opinion because of perceived bias.

    For example, Othello's last post:

"You cant say anything because you dont know that. (True.) It is possible that with jb we would be winning by a large margin and not need a major stop by the defense to win. (Possible ... YES. Certain ... NO.) This argument is just as plausible as yours. (True.) Like i said earlier...quit blaming the receivers because they are open. (True.) The only passes jd have hit are the ones where no one is within five yrds of them. (Blatantly FALSE.) Throw to the spot and allow them a chance to make a play. (True, you have to be able to "throw a receiver open" sometimes.) He gets sacked because he is waiting for them to get wide open.(False, a lot of his sacks are the result of not properly reading the defense pre-snap and in play. Trusting his WRs to make a play for him would also help him a ton!) Holding ball too long equals sack in the SEC. (True.)"

IMO, his contention is more plausible than not. However, the way that he mixed such demeaning, and untrue, comments about the kid moves some to dismiss his entire post.

  • The false and blatantly false statement makes the whole point nonsense. However claiming WRs are "open" is only partially true but intellectually dishonest. I am sure sometimes WRs are open and sometimes they are not. You comment that is a true statement is both incorrect and is logically impossible.
