New Rankings

  • Brantley moved up into the 247 but Adams fell out. I hate when that happens. I still think Brantley is underrated at 241 overall.

Texas athlete Robbie Rhodes shoots up in the latest Top247

Texas prospect Robbie Rhodes is one of the most explosive athletes in America this spring and hes the biggest mover in our updated 2013 Top247.

I'm still trying to figure out how the come up with total points...we have the same number of 3,4 and 5* players as UGA but the have more points overall. Highest ranked players both carry a 98 rating but they have a player rated at 85 but they have more total points? We call that "Vick math" were I'm from. I guess their commits are weighted on a curve. shrug

  • Yeah I don't get the team rankings either, UF has a higher average than UGA with the same number of player but UGA is second? It doesn't make sense.

  • Don't quote me on this, but it might have something to do with the amount of commits you have at a certain position. For example, Florida has 4 commitments from olb, well it's going to be hard to put 4 olb on a field, so the lower ranked commits might not be weighed in much if at all.

not coming down on you but that's BS. They have 5 DB committed but I'm sure they weighed all 5. We have 4 LB commits and Hearns is ILB....funny how Wiggins and the Juco DB have such high ratings. But I wouldn't expect anything else when it comes to UGA commits on 247.

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but I counted 4 olb commitments for uf.... McMillan, Powell, Lawson, and Neal. Uga has 3 db committed and 1 athlete.

Green,Wiggins,Matthews, juco and Wilkerson. Neal is rated at S not OLB.

  • Neal is a safety

  • I'm just going by what's listed on your respective commitment list. Green is listed at rb, and the guy your saying is a db is listed at athlete. I'm just guessing on the ranking discrepancy though.

not sure what list you're going by but the only ATH between both schools is Henry. Green is listed at CB on 247. They couldn't give me a legit reason why a juco with only 2-3 offers is rated a 94 when asked about the rating. Some BS about "potential"...I remember the kid before heading to Juco and he wasn't a 94 then or now. Wonder what his rating would be if he committed to Houston or MTSU.

  • I'm guessing you get some kinda "extra credit" for having players ranked within the top 247.

BTW: Wiggins is tiny. He's a mediocre Cody Riggs. I do like Wilkerson, but everyone knows he wanted to be a Gator and didn't get his offer. Meanwhile Neal is a four star on the other sites and is bound to move up once he's seen more. Not sure how you can look at what a physical freak he is, then look at his tape, and not determine he's a four star. That's how they rank most of the other players this early, why not Neal?

Either way we're talking about a tiny difference in the two classes at this point. Most of the remaining kids we'll fill this class with are four or five stars, unless things go south with a ton of prospects.

As long as we grab another DE/Buck/DT, with another stud WR and DB, along with one more really good OL, I'm good. Would like to grab a top QB, but I'm not sure that happens. if we don't, we'll have our pick next year.
