Loucheiz's Arrest Means?

  • 1st & formost I just want to say I love the kid. Good football player. Always thought he would be a better Safety then CB but that's just me. Hope he learns from this & Champ gives him another chance. That being said I think this puts him on a tight leash w/Muschamp & gives Freeze all the opportunity in the world to get a starting spot (Saw that someone posted nicknames for players, Vernons is & has been Freeze besides VH3) Also saw people saying Loucheiz could be a 1st rd pick. He could be but I don't see it. Okay in coverage & is a shaky tackler. He has games where he amazes me tackling, then games were he doesn't wrap up the ball carrier. Just my observation, I pay the most attention to DB's bc they are my favorite position. Thoughts?

  • Kid has the tools to be a 1st rd pick and IS in a few early mocks.

    He needs to further develop in 2 areas IMO. Ball skills and being a reliable tackler. He has the aggressiveness and is usually around the ball in the run game, but he is inconsistent. I doubt that VH3 starts of Purifoy if both are at CB in the fall.

    I know he is in early mocks but that doesn't really mean anything. He is aggressive which is good but isn't constant in his form. Sometimes it's like he thinks he is playing pickup football. Great Great athlete though & if your going by athleticism then yea kid is a 1st round pick but you have to show more then just athleticism to be a 1st rounder. While I agree that he probably will still start over VH3 but this has def opened the door a little wider for Freeze. Loucheiz has some great tools no doubt. I think my biggest thing w/him is he is lighting fast but he is tight in the hips. That's why I would put him as our Strong Safety & bulk him up to like 215-220? Or is that just dumb haha? I'm not a football expert I'm just saying things I think would work. They won't do anything I say probably hahaha

  • Let's not forget the kid was just a sophomore last year. Amazing how good our secondary was considering the youth of our CBs.

    Did something more come out other than he was in the car? If not it will mean not much at all. Tell the kid to be more selective who he rides
    with and move on.

  • I know we tired of the Saban love here, but I remember that he wanted LP badly out of high school and almost flipped him.

    Pretty accurate, imo. He is a physical tackler who isn't afraid of contact. Despite that, he misses his share.

    I think Purifoy has a lot of talent. His best knack is for being around the ball, so I could certainly see him being a solid safety. That said, it doesn't sound like that's really on the table at all right now.

    He'll be a ST's demon and either turn into an explosive offensive playmaker, or go back to cb and be a 1st round pick.
