Julius Randle Update

Randle is scheduled to play Friday after a week of full contact practice. Donovan watched him work out today and said Julius was trying to tear the rim off.
Good to know Billy is still in the thick of Randles recruitment. This makes me feel better about our chances. I know JRs mom loves Billy and that is crucial to our chances especially with the distance between TX and UF

We need Randle! Patric Young is gone after this year from what I'm hearing.
If we miss on Randle, we need a transfer big that can come in and play immediately like an Oriakhi or Birch. Front court depth will be an issue again next year especially if we have an injury! In Billy I trust!

I don't agree with "need". Really, really want though! Harris, Walker, Yeguette, and Prather is a pretty solid frontcourt group, and Billy has also proven time after time that he can be successful with some 3 and even 4 guard lineups. I do think Randle could be the difference between a really good team and a great team though.

With Pats performace the other night he is skyrocketing up NBA scouts charts. As long as he is consistent he is a lock for the 1st rd. NBA GMs like scouts will highly value Pats physical presence. They will likely view him as a player who can immediately contribute as a bench big a give 10-15 min a game. Crazy how all it took was one great performance on a big stage to relaunch his value
The transfer market could get interesting if the potential rules the NCAA is discussing are passed and a player with a decent GPA can transfer without sitting out for a year.

Didn't forget him. He'll be our best player next year besides Kasey. I just didn't include him because I consider him a true 3 rather than a 3/4.

I don't think it really matters what people are hearing now on Young. His stock could raise significantly after the NCAA tourney.

I don't get this...is JR planning on playing center? Pardon my ignorance, but can someone enlighten me what our starting lineup would look like if JR commits and PY stays? Also, if PY leaves and JR commits?

I'm hearing what he said! In a recent interview he said he's focused on finishing this last year at Florida! Also, my buddy works in the UF athletic office. He tells me what he hears. He was a manager for Billy D at Marshall then followed him to UF.

yep, 2nd rd contracts are not guaranteed

they're not guaranteed per the CBA but almost all the 2nd round picks get guaranteed money, some multiple years some only guaranteed money for the 1st yr with club options.
