i hope Cal can make them all happy!!!

that means the following players will start at UK if this occurs:

    PG: Harrison
    SG: Harrison
    SF: Poythress
    PF: Randle
C: Johnson (or Lee who knows)

Bench: Lee, Harrow, Young, Wiltjer, and Willis.
*Harrow may transfer but he should never of went to UK. he needs to go somewhere where he can play on a lesser team

Good luck keeping them all happy, i am sure that the freshman did not sign up to play on the bench!! no inside info but i bet all the freshman go pro!

  • I hope he CAN'T make them all happy and kids start saying F this. Let's go play for Billy D and FLORIDA!

  • i just hope P Young comes back and Walker makes it to UF. if those two things occur then we can handle UK next year, we may lose to them but we will be in every game.

    Is this just a prediction?

  • Their insiders all had them getting Shabazz too. I still say he ends up at Kansas. Makes the most sense.

  • I dont feel like we will ever be able to recruit with UK, unless the Kid is from FL. Karl Towns Jr grew up a Gators fan (Supposedly) and he still chose UK. Idk why recruits dont like UF. I understand that we are a football school but in my honest opinion we are a sport school. We do well in just about every sport, I also blame ESPN. All the talk about is Duke/UNC/UK/KU and thats what kids watch, so they assume thats where you go as a big time bball player. If Randle wants to be "the guy" why would he go to UK? He should go to UTx or KU. O Well sorry for the drawn out response. Kids will be Kids

  • Well Randle went to the store and:

    @JayJayUSATODAY: Went hat shopping tonight with Julius Randle. All four - #Kansas #Kentucky #Florida #Texas - snapbacks purchased. http://t.co/vLLFLYQxcd

Other than Shabazz, has Cal lost on a recruit he really went for while at UK? I fight with the fans up here all the time, they think Cal is a great coach. I say he is the best in the biz at recruiting, but a very below average coach.

Last year was a perfect storm with the kids that they had being mature and not selfish for as big of hype as they had. This year should come e to no surprise to anyone. Look at the time UNC lost their top6 players after both of their champs. Their next seasons they were garbage.

UK is going to have the best on paper class ever, but don't think they will even be fav to win the SEC.

In the last year in addition to Muhammad, UK missed on:

    1. Wells who went to UMD

    2. Oriakhi who went to UMo

    3. Hill who signed with UF

They don't admit to Hill, but on message boards you find posts bemoaning all their misses in the last year that led them to their current state.

Kentucky does exceptionally well in recruiting but Cal does not always get all the players he wants. Shabazz sticks out because he was a late decision and UK was in it down to the end. That rarely happens but i'm 80% sure it will happen again this year as its unlikely they get both Wiggins and Randle. The reason UK doesnt lose out on more recruits is because they have sooooo many options to chose from. It is well known that Cal wanted Kasey Hill as did many others but UK knew early on that Hill would be a Gator so they went on to their next 5 star option. I mean, Chris Walker was pretty verbal about not getting a UK offer and no matter what that situation was whether it be Cal didn't want to waste his time with Chris (knew he was UF bound - Hill connection) or other reason (grades etc.) it is pretty impressive that UK has enough options that they can choose to ignore a top 10 prospect. Overall I just think that UK doesn't seem to lose out on recruits because unlike UF they have enough options to avoid fighting for any kid they might not get. Don't get me wrong they still beat out plenty of teams for 5 stars every year but almost 95% of the 5 star players consider Kentucky and with the 1 and done rule UK is temporary lodging for a ton of kids who would usually test the draft waters directly out of high school. Cal has perfected an imperfect machine. He will continue to have the McD AA teams every year but most of the time these teams will fall short of titles because of their youth and inexperience. 2012 was a special group of kids (with two returning stud freshman from 2011 Lamb/Jones) and although every UK fan will always point to that next season as another National Title team they know especially after this year, there are no guarantees.

Not a huge bball fan so I am not sure who wells is, but the UK fans here talk about all their recruits they want and I had not heard about him.

You can't really count Oriakhi he was a transfer. Can't see them really getting many of those with the turn over there.

And the Harrison twins were always top if their board so I doubt they were upset about Hill, and what would that have to do with this years team?

Calipari wants a PG. He again does not have one and he missed on Hill. Wells was a PG who was released late and ended up at UMd that Cal wanted.

I'm sure you are right on Wells, but one of the Harrison Twins is a 6'5 #1 rated pg in the same class as Hill. I doubt the missed in Hill by signing the top pg in the same class.

Both Harrison twins are the same player. They don't pass the ball. Hill is a traditional PG. You see how much trouble they are having this year with the same type of player in Goodwin.

  • A USA Today reporter has been riding around with Randle everywhere and confirms he purchased four snapbacks for his ceremony -- Florida, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas.

  • if Randle did go to Uk i would not be surprised if Wiltjer transferred elsewhere! dude has his weaknesses but he is 6"10" and can shoot! IMO he is more athletic than Murph but needs to bulk up some and learn to play decent defense but when he does watch out cause he has all the tools to make it in the NBA.

  • Randle really didn't need to buy all four snapbacks. He could've went to cheap way like Jabari Paker and just got one shirt to pull out of a bag

also did Donovan know that Walker making it in was a HUGE question mark? it could cost us next season especially with depth.

There's rumors on the UCLA board that the Bruins will throw money at Billy D once the season is over .

he is already one of the most well-paid coaches in the NCAA. i doubt money will make that big of a difference. Billy has it all in gainesville and make more money than anyone can dream off. UCLA is a great program but Billy wont go all the way across the country at this point in his life and with his son coming in next year.
