Was just thinking its pretty awesome to be a gator right now. Basketball team looks great and is a possible title contender this year and may be even better next year. Football team also has outside title shot and next year returns most of the best defense in football(sorry but no team had faced this schedule and done so darn well on defense....rankings say Fsu...they play no one). Baseball team is on fire and any given night I can go watch swimming or track or gymnastics or tennis and know my team has a great chance of winning.

I always want to go through this and strip out titles won by dynasties (UCLA/Stanford water polo, UNC women's soccer, Arkansas track, etc.) to show that Florida's recent success is kinda staggering.

Here if you want more recent this is probably up your alley, similar to the Capital One Cups but it is the Director's Cup. It started in '93-'94 and Florida is all up in that. Hard to beat Stanford and UCLA though.

BTW, FYI, college football is NOT included on that list for FBS schools, not a sancationed NCAA title.

Just keep in mind your list doesn't include FBS football. And UCLA has a great history, but most of us weren't around for it, but we were around to see UF beat UCLA for a recent basketball title.

Over the last 30 years its hard to argue that anyone is better atheletically than UF, and only maybe Stanford has been as good overall.

Doesn't Stanford have like field hockey or equestrian or some shit as well? Kind of glad we don't have a team that involves people riding ponies and jumping over fences decorated with flowers, but that's just me.

Actually intelligence is only a factor in major sports. Football, basketball, baseball players usually score lower than other athletes. In fact female athletes do better than other girls in school in a lot of cases. Stanford does incredibly well in female sports...and female athletes generally aren't the same as high profile male athletes. It's weird but it seems females may never have the fake idea sports is their way to success so school is just ss high a priority.
