Is Deonte Thompson the next David Nelson?

  • the guy who makes an impact in the pros that we never saw coming?

1 » Players stand out every year during NFL organized team activieis that never wind up making the active roster but word out of the Baltimore Ravens camps is that former Florida Gators wide receiver Deonte Thompson is doing more than just playing well. According to Comcast SportsNet, Thompson’s performance over the last three weeks has been worthy of the “Most Heads Turned” award. “The undrafted free agent receiver from Florida emerged from the masses, exhibiting a ton of speed and nice hands,” insider John Eisenberg wrote. “[Joe] Flacco hooked up with him several times in the workouts open to the media. He gets the early nod as this year’s player most likely to…earn a roster spot as a longshot.”

Unless he craps the bed in Aug he's going to make the roster. He's getting more reps than Tommy Streeter from reports on Ravens blog(working in the slot). Never understood why staff didn't use him more inside. When ever he was running short route he never had issue catching or getting open. It was the long stuff he struggled with.

  • Good for him.
I actually am a Buffalo Bills fan so I'm aware of D. Nelson and his abilities. Look for Nelson to have a huge year!!

  • Didn't David Nelson produce a good bit? He had great hands, much faster and stronger than he looked and an intelligent guy.
