Is Boom gonna get paid?

  • I think he has earned the right to a big raise already, and we better do it so Texas or somebody else doesn't come calling though I don't believe he would leave unless he was not compensated fairly. He should make $4 M a year, IMO and go up from there with Championships. That's what an elite coach makes, and he has already proven that he is an elite coach, IMO.

If he gets a raise, I think it'll be more in the $3.2 million range. Right now it's still early in his career, and Florida could very well handicap itself when it needs the money for new coordinators in a year or two down the road. If someone makes an offer to Muschamp, then it's a different story.

Until then, don't think you wanna just jump straight the $4 million range.

  • I don't think he deserves that high of a raise till he wins at least an SEC CG. Will said it himself. We aren't "back" till we win a championship.

  • What is his current salary?

As I recall it is around 2.4 million with some incentives he will achieve this year.

Its one 11-1 season for a second year coach, I'm not opposed to his getting a small raise, but we don't want to end up like Tennessee and some other schools that keep giving coaches raises and then firing them a year or 2 later and ending up with no money left in the buget to hire big on the next coach.

If next year is a repeat of this year, then its time to bump him up to the top tier in the SEC.

Unless someone comes a calling that is and we have to compete to keep him.

    In Jeremy I trust :)

$2.4745 million with up to $450,000 in max bonuses. He gets a $100K bonus for getting to a BCS Bowl. He also can get $50K for AP Coach of the Year, $25K for AP SEC Coach of the Year and $50K for a Top 10 finish in the AP or USA Today.

Thomas - is your bonus 100K if you increase board traffic by 50%?

  • His contract is five years now. Foley will pay but foley wants sec and national titles. I think jump him to 2.7 mill now for this year. But make him win a title before talking 4 million.

  • It's easy to give raises with other people's money. We didn't offer him a pay decrease for a lousy year last year so I agree with many on the board, let's see how this plays out for another year or two. I trust Foley on this one.

  • I love Will to death and hope he's our coach until he retires but the big pay days and extensions should come after titles have been won. JMHO. I'm glad he got the extension to show that he's a long term investment to recruits, but the pay increase needs to wait.

One year does not make a career. Show me twice and I will be nice.

  • I hear you guys, but Texas would love to have him back and history has proven that the elite one's win big in their second year. He won as many regular season games as Spurrier and Meyer ever did. I'm just saying someone will come after him soon, but I don't expect him to even entertain that. He seems very loyal, and he knows he's building a G6 here!
