If we end up getting Alexander as well

  • is this the best DB class we've ever had?

    VHIII
    Alexander
    Harris
    Neal
    Washington

The only one I remember being close to this would be 2010. With Elam, Dowling, Shaw, and Watkins. But 2 of those guys ended up leaving the program.

  • Imagine picking up Alexander, Collins, Brown, Clark and maybe Daniel.

What a finish that would be. And with Champ, it would not surprise me one bit for it to happen.

  • Get used to it. We're going to keep bringing in stud DB's as long as Muschamp's here.

Yup, look at next year and all the DBs that list UF among their top schools

  • I realize Urban won us 2 NC's. But I never felt this confident with the program, and being sustainable over a period of time. I feel like this is sustainable and for a very long time.

Man, I have thought about this so much. Urban akways felt a little like a mercenary, I could see Boom doing Saban like things here for 20+ years. Wow, how great would that be?

  • I don't think Muschamp would leave for another college job, but he will one day get an NFL offer if he keeps winning at UF. He always talks highly of his time in the league and it being a mans game. I could see him taking an NFL gig in 4 or 5 years. Honestly, this day and age, schools generally need new blood after having the same coach for 7-10 years.

Does anyone think Mack Brown is good for Texas anymore? Stoops is still doing well, but he doesn't have that fire anymore. He's really not as into it as he was. New blood could take OU up a notch. Pete Carrol started losing at USC and he decided to bolt after 7 years. Richt started slipping around year 8. Tressel couldn't get over the hump anymore in his later years. Les Miles will experience similar things in time imo.

There are exceptions and I hope Muschamp is one of them. I'd love to see him stick around for 20+ years and become a UF and SEC legend. If we get 6-10 years out of him with a natl title and a few SEC titles, we're good.

The guy I'm more worried about leaving when the time comes is Jeremy Foley. He's in his 60's and may be around too much longer. He is the guy that makes the magic happen. Hopefully he gets to make his replacement hire and its another grand slam the way most of his hires have been. No better way to leave a lasting legacy than to handpick his new AD and have him lead UF athletic to many more great years. Maybe it'll be Billy D one day.. I would say SOS but he's already older than Foley.

That’s the guy all UF fans need to worry about, he is truly the mastermind behind UF's success in sports.

The best thing about it is they are all Florida boys so they have been playing against good competition for years

This isn't even close to on-topic. GTFO with this talk about Muschamp eventually leaving.

  • would love for VH3, MackA, Maye, and Harris or Neal to become the next Haden, Jenkins, Black, and Wright. 08 was a serious NFZ

    GatorTech

  • I think Muschamps approach to DB recruiting is simple, he wants 3 year guys that are ready to play as Freshmen. Being in the Southeast the talent pool for DB's is a deep as it ever been and a smart guy like Muschamp notices that. He doesn't have that Meyer mindstate of having guys that a 4-5 year players, Muschamp wants guys that are 3 and possibly 4 year players. VH3 and Mackensie are sure fire 3 year leapers, the will start anywhere they go their freshmen year but Florida. Florida is going to lose possibly 4 CB's next year with Watkins and Riggs graduating and Purifoy and Roberson making the junior leaps. VH3 and/or Mackensie will start year 2 and explode on to the scene like Purifoy and will also look to make the leap their junior campaigns.

    Only at Florida...Go Gators!!!
