Agree. Tennessee has more firepower than they've had in past years imo

I dunno about that. But The Viles have a good coach now. That last lame Kitten was terrible. But Dooley is good his daddy use to beat us senseless.

If the Vols win five games this season then Derek Dooley should be SEC Coach of the Year. I've never seen a Tennessee team so thin and so lacking in talent from top to bottom of the roster, particularly on the offensive and defensive lines. You don't win in the SEC unless you've got the studs up front and the Vols are severely lacking there ... not to mention at quarterback.

ESPN was doing everything but kissing his daddys @$$ on espn from that qb camp.
I think if it wasn't simms little baby boy espn wouldn't say that about him. He sucks HARD! imo. go gata!

Simms got rave reviews at the Manning QB camp this summer...but this is the same guy who bombed out of Louisville, too.
I think the Vols have enough talent that they could surprise some teams if taken lightly. Doubt Florida falls into that trap, however. We'll see. I'm not expecting a huge blow out on Rocky Top for now, that's for sure.

I agree this is the thinest UT team I've seen in a long time. I don't see them surprising anybody this year. But I do believe that Dooley will eventually turn it around up there.

Agreed. Dooley gets them back eventually, it'll take time though.

well, the SEC doesn't give out that award for good coaching jobs. it is given to the coach with the best athletes on the field. so even if Dooley wins 9, if Bama or UF or any other team for that matter wins the conference that coach will get SECCOY.

just as an aside: Tennessee is not that far away from competing for the East title, believe it or not. there's a ton of young talent on the squad, especially at the skill positions. they just lack quality big men in back up roles. those are the kind of roles that can be filled with young but talented players. the OL will most likely go from an unknown for this year into a strength for 2011. TE, SS, and (1)CB will be the question marks entering spring 2011.
