First off, let me say that I'm not one to "pile on" with negativity. Murphy, Boynton and Rosario played their butts off during their time at FL and are a big reason why the Gators made three-straight Elite Eights (not an easy feat!)
However, that doesn't mean we can't dissect why the Gators lost this game...and so I did something a little different than basketball recruiting and tried to take an honest and analytical look at some reasons why Florida lost by 20 points

The latest news and analysis of UF basketball recruiting (by Drew Laing)
Michigan is better.
No need to dissect any further.
I really think it was just as simple as Murphy playing poorly. Our offense depends on him spacing the floor and having the defense over committing to him. We got our 1-on-1 match ups with him and Young, and they both couldn't convert. A lot of people thought Murphy would be a match up nightmare for Michigan, but he did nothing with it.
I thought we would be able to slow down Michigan, but we have to at least score more points to give us a chance.
Michigan is a better team especially when some of our key players played poorly. This was a really good season despite the poor finish.
I agree that Michigan is the better team. UF has no lottery picks on this team and Michigan has two(Burke and McGary). After that both teams are fairly even.
I think UM played a better game. Our play the first half or the season when we beat Tex AM, Marquette, and Wisconsin by 30 was a team I hoped would represent us but the writing was on the wall after our Sweet 16 game. Donovan called a lemon of a game as well....we hand' nt played a style like that all year restricting too many players. Of course our guys could've delivered a sound defensive effort as they had done all year but didn't.
