Sorry guys...was on the road to Orlando this morning for the Class 3A state championship game at the Citrus Bowl. A couple of updates...
First, the good news -- after meeting with new Florida head coach Will Muschamp on Friday, tight end A.C. Leonard confirmed that he would honor a previous commitment to attend the University of Florida. According to a report by Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union, Leonard is still on pace to enroll early at the University of Florida.
However, the bad news comes in the form of a de-commitment from Florida by Ryan Shazier of Plantation, according to various media reports out this morning. Shazier, who is currently on an official visit to Ohio State, is expected to make a final decision later today. He is also on pace to enroll early. We're still waiting for official confirmation from Shazier himself...but all indications out of Gainesville are that this is the case.
Florida currently has 16 commitments, of which at least 8 (Jeff Driskel, Mike Blakely, A.C. Leonard, Chase Hounshell, Clay Burton, De'Ante "Pop" Saunders, Nick Waisome and Kyle Christy) are expected to enroll early.

Not entirely sure on the number that can enroll early at the present time.
Shazier confirmed with me that he will be making a final decision today, just a few minutes ago. He says Florida is still in the mix (along with LSU and Ohio State), but to be honest...I get the vibe that Shazier is probably headed elsewhere.

While wearing my Gator gear this week in a supermarket in DeLand, I was approached by another Gator fan who told me that he is good fiends with Pop's uncle, and that Pop Saunders is strongly considering F$U. Take it for what its worth, but we all know coach Pettis at DeLand is a F$U promoter.
On a personal note Justin, I'm only here as a visitor since I can't afford dual memberships. Sure miss you and Franz and will see you at spring practices.
