Familiar with the kid and family. He really loves b-ball. If he does choose FL, he will most likely redshirt, and I am not sure about his TE ability as he needs a lot of technical blocking work, and I don't know how well he would absorb contact while looking to catch a ball. The hitting in football is a lot different than in basketball. From seeing him, if he chooses football, UF should stick him to 1 position and just develop him for 3 year. He maybe would give UF 1.5 good years. Just my prospective. But he is a high quality kid, who can take all the yelling from coaches. In fact, he feeds off of it. It seems, the more coaches yell, the better he plays as far as basketball goes. Kid loves a challenge.

Please know I think the kid is great, and I would love to have him in a UF uni. He is a real standup kid, that seems to get it. But honestly, he does not move like any of those TEs. He would be more of a blocking TE with his current athleticism. His ability on the court is about how he understands how to use his body. He is not very athletic. I have never seen him dunk, but he will give you a double-double and give you everything on defense against much bigger players on the basketball court. If he made the choice to go to UF, my opinion would be OL, I think he could become a nice tackle in a few years of quality instruction or a decent pulling guard as he can move and picks things up really quick. Like I stated earlier, he just loves basketball. That is what he saw growing up and drew to. Football just came really late. Spoke with his uncle after his meeting, and the missing piece is his heart to play this sport. He was advised by all parties, only do it if your heart is in it. I also spoke with one of his teammates that said, "Man, Trey loves basketball too much." Just info.
