Fox creating a sports network to compete with ESPN

Way to get all emotional more over TV. We need more of that in America. Perhaps you would like the government to step in on your behalf and regulate their content since they've so wronged you? Would that make you feel better?

By the way, they spend way more time on the Gators than they do the likes of Maryland. You ever complain about that?

    Hilarious.....

No hard feelings, just don't see why you're so defensive. Also, I consider it sports more than TV. If I could be at every game I wanted to watch I would be but thats not realistic. It would be different if I was complaining about a sitcom or reality TV but I'm talking about sports.

Also, why would I complain about more Gators coverage? In my opinion there could never be enough. College is different there are too many teams and also ESPN doesnt overcover college as badly as they do with the Pros. That is why my argument was in relation to teams like the Heat, Patriots, and Yankees etc. The bottom line is they beat the top stories to death and even to the point where they start making up stats that don't even make sense like which Harborough ate breakfast first 3 days before the superbowl instead of showing highlights from all of the other games

Feel your pain on the baseball coverage. On the Braves blog I read, talkingchop.com, the running joke is "Will ESPN even mention it?" any time Kimbrel, Heyward or someone non-Chipper does something highlight worthy.

Im not sure if all teams do this but I follow the Reds twitter handle and throughout the game they will post videos of homeruns, webgems, and after the game a recap of all highlights including pitching highlights which are even more rare on ESPN. Thankfully I dont miss anything now

  • Per a handful of Twitter accounts, Fox Sports 1 mocked ESPN's Tim Tebow obsession in a presentation about the new network today.

Michael McCarthy (SportzBizUSA.com): Fox Sports 1 mocks ESPN's Tim Tebow obsession by showing robot repeating "Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow" at its upfront presentation.

Joking on ESPN could possibly be a great starting point for another network. Just please, whatever you do, No Tom Arnold!

  • This is a good thing if it comes to fruition. As good as ESPN can be, it needs competition to keep it at its best. And I think ESPN has many ways in which it could improve.

I subscribe to MLB.TV, so I get to see everything. But to use the Braves as an example, it's frustrating for the fans when someone like Kimbrel is having a phenomenal season and the national media pays little to no attention because he doesn't wear pinstripes.

That's one of the more disappointing parts of ESPN going SportsCenter crazy. ESPNEWS used to be highlights on loop 24/7, now it's dominated by SportsCenter while ESPN is showing its mid-afternoon shows (CFB Live, OTL, PTI, etc).

With all that said, it's doubtful that having another network will change the Yankees/Sox/Heat/Lakers dominance in national sports coverage.

    Understatement of the year.
