Alligator Alley

It seemed like we were never really in it mentally until the last couple innings. That loss to South Carolina mentally wrecked us. We left 12 runners in scoring position stranded on the bases. It is great we led the nation in home runs but in a park this big we aren't hitting multiple homeruns to save us. Where were some base hits today? They walked the bases loaded and we couldn't get 1 run to tie the game. That is just sad.

I kept thinking, go with the squeeze with Turgeon. He's a decent bunter, would have a really good chance to beat the throw to first and you would avoid a double play. No question that Turgeon left his bat across the plate on that third strike ... but the pitch before was a foot outside and should have walked in the tying run. Still you don't let the umpires decide games.

Going to be tough season next year. We lose pretty much all our power and the back end of the bullpen. And if Randall goes we will take a major step back.

Thank you for the class words Franz, we have been fortunate the last couple of years. But I gladly extend the same to the Gators, ya'll have been nothng but class the last few years during the season and in Omaha. Your run to Omaha the last 3 years reminds me a lot of ours in 2002-2004 with nothing to show but 1 championship runner up finish.When you have that kind of talent, it is frustrating as hell.It is a hard way to end the season, no doubt. I was really looking forward to playing you guys again because each game with UF seems to be a classic.Since that matchup won't happen, here's to Carolina or Arky bringing one home for the SEC!

Not a surprise the way it ended today. This team was over-rated from the beginning and never lived up to expectations. KS did everything they could to give us the game and we just choked on it. Sully has a lot to learn about winning a championship.
