I don't know...hard for me to say. Both are tremendous athletes who have excelled in both football and baseball...think the ceiling is pretty high for both of them at the next level.

Thats ok, Nick Saban has been pissing off the coaches in the state of Florida for several years now.

I'm sure you want me to say Driskel...so I'll say Driskel. But honestly, they're both pretty good quarterbacks. Really splitting hairs there in trying to say one is better than the other at this point.

The one advantage that Driskel has is that he arrived to campus around 240 pounds...physically he is a little further along than Winston at this point, but that's about it.

I could be way off on this so please correct me if im wrong, but I thought I remember people comparing Driskel to Tim Tebow. Again I might be wrong on that but for this posts sake lets say im right. Today I heard Winston compared as saying hes a taller version of Charlie Ward. So its like asking would you rather have Tim Tebow or Charlie Ward. You really cant choose one.

The Tebow comparisons were way too much. Kind of like the Harvin comparisons with Debose.

  • End up playing MLB next year, not college football.

Thats becoming less and less doubtful. Its going to take alot of money for him to turn down playing college.

  • I've heard about him being a good baseball player, but are we talking top 10 MLB pick here?

Supposedly a guaranteed first rounder. Bama fans have always said it was dumb to pursue him.

Highest I have seen him projected is 3rd round. Bama fans saying that are just saying it out of prayer mostly to make themselves feel better.

We are talking top 3-5 rounds. He is a great baseball player. Its going to come down to what team chooses him. Guy picked with the last pick of the first round didnt get 1 million. Now if he gets drafted by the Red Sox or Yankees then it wont matter, but if we are talking the Royals or Pirates then things will be looking up.

  • He's projected by Baseball America as a first rounder. That's a lot of money to leave on the table. We'll see, though.

Yep, that's nothing new, but really every fan base does that when they realize they are losing a player they should have gotten.

Well, every school except UF of course!!

P.S. James Wilder and Timmy Jernigan are terrible. We didn't want them anyways! j/k

He is projected that high by some publications...but remember, a year out, that doesn't mean a whole lot. The smallest things can send a player projected to go in the top three rounds down into the 11-15 round range (where the money isn't slotted...teams can go for broke here if they so choose).

The MLB Draft is, by far, the biggest free-for-all of the selection processes for the four major sports leagues in North America. Way too early to say what's going to happen with Winston...I'd agree that it's going to take big money for him to pass up FSU. But he may get that. Only time will tell...but his skillset definitely makes him worth the risk, I would think.

  • Alot of things can happen between now and then to affect Winstons stock and alot of it has nothing to do with Winston. Alot of it has to do with the way the upcoming Juniors and Seniors in college perform.

Wrong. Some pubs have him in 1st round. Fsu fans just keep saying lower because they want to believe Bama tried to get him.

Hs fam is die hard bama.

take your orange and blue blinders off for a second and be objective.... FACT: Wiston visited Bama and spent plenty of time with Saban this past weekend just before he made his decision... to say Bama was not interested or going hard for him is just asinine.

  • Obviously his relationship w FSU's staff played a huge role in his commitment. But I think he saw a clearer path to the starting role in Tally. All he has to do is beat out Coker & the other QB commit from this year to be next in line for the throne when Manuel departs. My Nole buddy swears up & down Second & Trickett will never see the field unless in case of an emergency. At Bama, he'd have to beat out McCarron and Sims, one of which will be entrenched in the starting position after this year. And both are young as well. It was a no-brainer in my eyes.

I have no idea if he's gonna play baseball or not. I'd personally take the money.

I posed the question of whether Driskel or Winston is the better prospect on the BB a few weeks ago. It seemed to be a 50/50 split with everybody saying the same stuff being said over here. Both tremendous athletes with high ceilings. Even without my "orange & blue blinders" I'd choose Driskel because he's bigger, stronger & faster. Both proved to be the best in the country at Elite 11 so I doubt you could go wrong. They'll settle it on the field within the next 3-5 years.

  • good take... and your friend is right about Secord and Trickett... Secord looked horrible in the spring game and Trickett is just so small and scrawny that he would get crushed out there (someone said on the Noles board the other day that he weighed in at 165). Don't count out Coker though.. he will not be a pushover for Winston.
