Elam coming back?

Quinn and Muschamp should advice all projected in the first 4 rounds to take the money after what happened to Marcus L.

Problem is "projected in the first 4 rounds" = may or may not get drafted. Pros want the players, and it's amazing how often they over-project.

A better question.. Does the relationship between Floyd, Easley and Ropo keep Floyd and Easley in G-ville for next year? Those 3 came in together and have a very close relationship. Do you think they would leave Ropo hangin like that and just bounce? I have a feeling they wanna come back to finish what they started, and alongside their boy Ropo. They all know that next year is their LAST shot, to win together

I like it. You never know. These kids are smart that we have. They know they'll never have this opportunity in college again and they'll have a few dozen shots to make a team in the NFL barring injury. Players can take out insurance policies on themselves as well so keep that in mind. Don't see it happening but with how close they are as friends they might want another shot at an SEC title.

  • I look at it from a different approach. Happy they are A) good enough, or B) Fla possibly helped develop them to the point they have the opportunity to even think about leaving early. It's a pride thing... But, as someone mentioned above, if any of them are good enough to be taken in the top 4 rounds, take the money, as it is never guaranteed to anyone.

We are Fla, we will reload. Not worried about that. It's simply a different way to set your mindset, so you don't fret about the things you can't control. Enjoy em for the final couple games, and wish em the best when they move on and dominate in the NFL. If they want to come back, hells ya, happy as fvck to have ya.

Long term though, makes the school look good too when multiple kids are put into NFL early.

  • you guys should just convince yourselves none of those guys are coming back

that way if any of them come back you will be pleasantly surprised

if none of them come back it was what you expected and you mentally prepared yourself for it months ago so it won't be a shock

    win/win imo

    This!!!!!!!

Elam and Floyd have already told the coaches what they're doing, and our coaches agree with their decision and would never try talking them out of it.

You guys are looking at Powells injury all wrong. There isn't some "let's come back for our boy", but instead "we see how quickly things can happen and we can get injured, get the money while we can".

Jenkins, Easley, and Reed are all more than likely gone, let's hope we get one or two of them back.

we get 1 of those guys to return it's a big win for us, 2 and it's a grand slam...3 and even 615 won't be able to hold back on the optimism

Im ok with Reed leaving, would like to see what Thompson and Kent Taylor do next year. And I think Morrison will step in nicely for Jenkins if he leaves. Im hoping Easley comes back though, hes the one I really want to see return

Not me, he is our most reliable receiver and obviously Driskel's favorite target....getting him back would be very big for our offense.

  • I think 2 of 3 stay.

Jenkins size will hold him back in projections

Easley needs to prove himself more. Plus he still has lingering swelling from the ACL.

Reed is gone IMO. He will measure and test well. Plus this is only his 2nd year at the position so the potential is there.

He and Christian Jones are very similar and will both smash the combine

    Yes it would.

BTW: Its ashame Floyd is so set on leaving. This years DT class going into the NFL is AMAZING. Floyd is projected by some to go in the late first, while others project the second round. I think he'll show out at the combine and end up in the mid to late first. However, if this were a different year or he were to want to stay, he'd have a chance to be the top DT taken in the draft.

Take a look at the DT's this year. VERY VERY DEEP year.

Star Luipiou from Utah. spelling is wrong I'm sure.. Taken first for 4-3 or 3-4 team. He's that big and athletic.

    Sheldon Richardson

Jonathan Jenkins - Taken early for 3-4 scheme

    Sylvester Williams

    Jon Hankins

Jesse Williams - Will be taken early by 3-4 team

LSU kid who's name I can't remember.. This is around the range Floyd is projected..

Louis Nix - Seen him projected ahead of FLoyd in some boards.. Big miss for the FLorida schools on this one.

Haven't seen a year with this many good, first round quality DT's in a long time. This is another reason Easley should come back. Kid won't sniff the first two rounds. Next year he could make the move back to DT and become a great player who can play DE in a 3-4 or 3 tech in a 4-3.

I want them all to come back, but I feel comfortable saying Jenkins and Easley absolutely SHOULD come back to better their stock. Those are two guys who I think would not hurt their stock no matter what by returning, barring an injury.

Too risky for Floyd and Elam, who are both mid first to early second round picks no matter what, this year.

I would like to see what they can do as well ... as Reed's backup.
