The intention here, at least from my end, was simply to explain the point of view (the highly unpopular one
) that some have. It's not looking down on others or saying anyone is less of a fan because they're not a graduate. It's just the natural response that when someone tells you they're a Gator, you assume they mean they're an alumnus.
As has been pointed out in this thread, that's clearly not what most people think when someone tells them they're a Gator. And that's fair.
I'd never tell someone they can't call themselves a Gator. Who the hell am I to do that? I think uffeesh would agree with that statement.
