I've read Andrea's tidbit three times, and I'm still searching for the part that makes sense.
Don't forget losses vs. unranked teams
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
What?!!! That's not objective; that's ridiculous... you completely leave out any comparison of quality of opponent. Anyone who thinks FSU had a better season than UF, when they both had essentially the same record and UF beat the brakes off FSU when they played head-to-head, has a screw loose.
Fact of the matter is, if FSU played UF's schedule, not only wouldn't they have 12 wins, they'd be lucky to have half that.
Oh, and 1 other thing, an ACC title is about as prestigious as a Sun Belt title these days.
UF played the #1 (NCAA) / #4 (Sagarin) schedule in the nation and went 11-2. FSU played the #52 (NCAA) / #66 (Sagarin) schedule in the nation and went 12-2. And UF won the head-to-head in a romp; there's no question UF had the better season.
That's looking at it objectively.
I completely left out things that, after the dust settles, seasons are over and ranking are final.... don't MATTER, i.e. everything you've listed.
Again, where are the trophies for quality wins? Where are the rings for sagrin ratings? Did you order your "we exceeded pre season expectations" limited edition t-shirts yet?!
Yes, we beat the brakes off of FSU. We ARE the better team. They had the better SEASON. You have to be able to differentiate the two to answer the original question.
As for your sunbelt comment, the ACC is probably more comparable to the Big East, you know, where the conference champion whooped us up and down the field came from. Yes, winning the SEC is more impressive that winning the ACC, however, winning your conference, ANY conference, is better than SECOND in your DIVISION.
Nothing you mention MATTERS at this point to ANYONE....unless of course you are reaching for reasons to build a case that UF had a better year than FSU...then of course you need them because that is all you have.
Listen, I love the Gators as much as anyone and I hate FSU as much as anyone, but I'm not a zombie homer. Does this work better for you?
............................................Team A..................Team B
Things that don't matter..........W.............................L
Regular Season Losses...........1.............................2
Losses Against Rivals..............1.............................1
BSC Bowl Win.........................No..........................Yes
Final AP Ranking....................9.............................10
For the record, I voted for UF in the poll. Because I hate FSU and don't want to lost to them in anything. That said, team B had the better season. I don't care WHO team B is or what conference they play in.

So did Northern Illinois have a better season than us because they won the MAC?
Listen. I get it. You're programed to put UF ahead of FSU in everything. I might as well be talking to a brick wall.

Would you trade our season(4 big w's), and the head to head win in Doak, co-SEC East title...for 1 good reg season win, a loss to an unranked team, an ACC championship and Orange Bowl win over N. Illinoise?

Not knowing who team A was and who team B was....which season would you pic?
If your answer is team A, you're lying to yourself. If your answer is team B then guess what, FSU had the better season. You are just posing the argument to look better for UF. It doesn't hold water.
hell no im damn proud of those 4 wins
really coming into the yr all i wanted was our first good win in the muschamp era he gave us 4
It matters who the teams are because not all W's and conferences are created equal.
Not knowing who the teams are most anyone would take a Conference title and a BCS win, as would I. But that doesn't tell the story. You don't see many ACC champ shirts here in Tally.
Knowing the teams, would you trade seasons? Meaning ACC champs not SEC champs. The next time the ACC Championship sells out will be the first time.
We aren't SEC champs, we didn't even win our division. FSU is IN the ACC...they didn't have an opportunity in 2012 to win or play in the SEC. They are in the ACC and they won their division, they won their conference and won a BCS bowl. We are the better team, we had a GREAT year. FSU had the better season.
So you are saying you WOULD trade seasons with them?
They had the better post season. Ur an Idiot if u think their season was better
Fsu started the season at 7. Finished the season at 8. I don't use the ap poll because the ap poll means just as much as a poll my nephew would do. When you use the poll that matters fsu finished at 8 and Florida finished at 9.
I would trade not winning my conference for winning my conference, not winning my BSC bowl for winning my BCS bowl, yes I would.
SEC > ACC. UF > FSU
winning your conference > not winning your conference
winning your BCS bowl > losing your BCS bowl
What do we have to SHOW for this year? 10 years from now, FSU will at LEAST have another couple of trophies in the case, and one higher number in their 'ACC championships' column.
You're putting all of the emphasis on our season body of work and nothing on the end of the seasons body of work. ALL things considered, as a WHOLE, FSU had a better season. Hell, we even finished practically the same rank.
The question implies post season and regular season. Excellent comprehension skills you're demonstrating and an even better argument you pose. "I'm right and if you don't agree you are an idiot" That's an idiots argument.
They ain't handing out trophies to the winner of this question either. Ergo, vis a vis, the question of the better season is inherently subjective because of a lack of defined parameters that can determine a true winner to this heated debate.

Walk softly but carry a big stick
This whole debate is definitely going places.
Like the poster above said, it's not like whoever any of us feel had the better season is going to get a trophy for having the better season, whether this whole thing is subjective or objective.
I've seen many ridiculous debates on message boards. But this one takes the cake. According to your criteria GoodGator, here are a few teams that you would say had a better season than Florida:
Arkansas State (10-3)-Sun Belt Champs (conference winner), GoDaddy.com Bowl Champs (bowl win)
Tulsa (11-3)-Conference USA Champs (conference winner), Liberty Bowl Champs (bowl win)
Boise State (11-2)-MWC Champs (conference winner), MAACO Bowl Champs (bowl win)
Utah State (11-2)-WAC Champs (conference winner), Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Champs (bowl win)
Exact same reasoning that you have stated for Florida State having a better season than Florida. Please explain these 4 to me then as well. And we can't change your criteria at this point. If we all have to use only your reasoning, then you must make it universal.
Everything you're saying is absolutely absurd. You're the one programmed; programmed to think negativity is the same as objectivity, and that you should feel guilty about making a sound argument for your own team.
Winning trophies and titles is great; but sorry, winning ANY conference title is definitely NOT better than second place in other conferences. Maybe some BCS homework would help you out, because the ACC is INFERIOR to the Big East, and it's really not even a debate. I look at BCS bowls because that is competition between the top teams from each conference, and thus...
SEC - 25 games - 7 different teams - 17-8 (.680) - 1 loss was to another SEC team (2011 Bama/LSU NCG)
P12 - 19 games - 7 different teams - 11-7 (.579) - USC vacated 1 win
BEA - 15 games - 8 different teams - 8-7 (.533)
B10 - 26 games - 7 different teams - 11-14 (.423) - tOSU vacated 1 win
B12 - 20 games - 9 different teams - 8-12 (.400)
ACC - 16 games - 6 different teams - 3-13 (.188)
See who's dead last? Yep, you guessed it, the Almost Competitive Conference.
FSU beating NIU for a lame Orange Bowl title is hardly a proud accomplishment. Every cfb on the planet knows NIU didn't belong ranked where they were, and had no business in the game in the first place.
Beating them was like us beating Louisiana-Lafayette... do you think we should get a trophy made for that win? Will our season be as good as theirs if we have a trophy for beating a tune-up team like they do?
