What happened to him
Did he play NBA
the All time scorer played in NBA for 14 years....
Vernon Maxwell is all time scorer in UF history--- 2,450 points,
I thought I heard somethin about Vernon M. was the leading scorer for UF all time but wasn't in the record books... If that's true then what happen for his stats not to count?
Drugs..illegal payments..Norm Sloan..bad memories that eventually led to Captain Ahab Coach Don Devoe.
Preciate the info, +1
It was determined that he was taking $$ from an agent his last two years so they threw those two years out. All schools do it...it's weird because it happened.
Ronnie Williams was a BIG dude. About 6-9 260. Very good around the basket. From New York City.
Williams was from Queens. Was a HUGE early get for Sloan.
I believe the Gators had a dominant post player in 78-79-80 range -- Reggie Hannah. All-SEC type. My memory is foggy, but he may have quit the team. So UF needed Ronnie badly.
Sloan got Ronnie and Vernon Delancy in his first class.
Eugene McDowell came a couple years later and was UF's first McDonald's All-American.
Ronnie had 4 good years at UF but never made it in the NBA. Different league back then. Fewer teams. He could score. Not a great defender. Avg. Rebounder.
