Wayne Selden, reclassified to the basketball class of 2013, talks the Gators in this ESPN video from NBA camp.
ESPN Video: RecruitingNation's Dave Telep talks with 2013 PG Wayne Selden (Boston, Mass./Tilton) who recently moved from the 2014 class.

Per Dave Telep, Jermaine Lawrence (6-9, 200, Springfield Gardens, NY Pope John XXIII) is down to Florida, Syracuse and Rutgers. Telep has Florida listed first for Markel Crawford (6-4, 185, Memphis, TN Melrose). That's still a surprise to me since he plays AAU ball for the Atlanta Xpress, which has never been kind to UF.
Lawrence would be huge. He's 225 now by the way.
Markel Crawford wants to take trips to Florida, Texas and Tennessee in the near-future in order to progress in the recruiting process.
saw a recent update with Lawrence and he does not even mention UF at all...don't think we are even in it for that kid....and no need for a Crawford type 2G as we took 3 wings in 2012 class and added DFS, who will end up a long SF after sitting out so I don't expect a SF in the 13 class either....I would look for us to add 2 bigs to go along with Hill and be done for 2013...then take more guards in 2014
I want Reggie Cameron and of course Chris Walker. Bullis, do you like Cameron? Is he a 3 or a stretch 4?
Last week Dave Telep reported that Lawrence is down to Florida, Rutgers and Syracuse. Actually, that was this past Saturday. That's fairly recent.
There will be a shooter in this class. Whether it's a tall small forward the likes of Reggie Cameron or a power guy the likes of Nick King or Wayne Selden, that remains to be seen, but it's going to be someone who knows how to put points on the board and adds length and athleticism.
There will be two bigs in the class.
I love Cameron...perfect for our system....stretch 4 as of now who may develop into a 4/3 combo...best catch and shoot guy in 2013 class, and with all the other athleticism and length we are bringing in, he would fit perfect as a skill guy to balance out the roster
I think the kid is probably a Big East lock, but Kuran Iverson seems to have UF high on his list.
Jermaine Lawrence ....got some excellent film -- kid looks like a legit 6 8" + type kid - 4 all the way....feels like this years Brice Johnson type almost.....BUT seems like kid has some ball skills and could potentially one day play a little at the 3 spot?
as for Selden - i thought he was a virtual sUK lock...I assume they decided they dont want him at this point given they have the Harrison twins and a few others ahead of him at his spot?
Lawrence measured 6-9 plus at NBA where he trimmed his list to Florida, Rutgers and Syracuse and said he expects to commit soon.
Kentucky hasn't backed off Selden but he isn't showing them much interest at this point.
Franz any prediction on Lawrence and where he may land?? What's our legit chances??
Florida's chances are very good. I think it will come down to Florida and Syracuse. Syracuse is selling him hard on the fact that they'll be in the ACC when he's a freshman and that means playing the likes of North Carolina and Duke. Rutgers is trying to sell Lawrence, Tyler Roberson, Reggie Cameron and Mike Young on what it would mean to the program if they all stay in Jersey, but I think kids want to go somewhere that knows how to get to championship games not someplace that is trying to get there. As for the Gators, Lawrence has a great relationship going with Rashan Burno and with Donovan. It didn't hurt Florida's chances that Billy took the USA team down to Brazil and just destroyed the competition with his bigs totally dominating everything down low.
Per Adam Zagoria, the Gators are going hard after Selden.
