That's also the difference between a team like Michigan who played in the Big 10 and was battle tested all season, and a team like Florida who played in a very weak SEC.
It's just like football, when you get tested week in and week out you're prepared for the post season.
It was a good year from a record stand point, we won the SEC regular championship.
But the SEC was very weak this year, and we had an easy road to the final 4 with having to beat only one top 5 seeded team.
Nobody will remember this season 10 years from now, but this team wasn't as good as their record was IYAM.
Hopefully next year we can turn the corner.
Proud of our boys for a great season but this one hurts just like the last two. Thinking about what led up to this with Michigan barely beating a stout 1 seeded Kansas while we warmed up with a 15 seed just seems like Michigan was playing a different level of basketball
Who is DFS?
Dorian Finney Smith, the transfer from VT. Was an all ACC freshman player last year and former top 30 recruit.

Ohhh let's doooo it
ooorrrannngeeee and bluuueee it
Transfer from Virginia Tech. Everyone in the country was after him but Billy sealed the deal..great grab.
Hahaha at you guys that think Walker won't be starting next year.
Agreed...a top ten player doesn't come to college and not start..even for Billy Donovan. Especially because Yuegette and Prather are more energy players and I think are more effective providing the spark off the bench we need.
I expect Prather to start next year. He has really developed as this year has progressed.
I second that emotion lean! He spell's & smells like an underage Nole. He's gotta be a Nole mole.
Reports all year from practice stated Finney Smith was the best player on the team. I expect a starting lineup of Hill or Wilbekin, Frazier, DFS, SkyWalker, and Young with an incredibly deep bench
Tough 40 minutes to sit & watch the Gators get spanked the way they did. What disappoints me the most in this loss - we never showed up the entire game except for the 3-4 minute burst early in the second half. We played with no sense of urgency, no emotion, passion or heart. That's what I don't understand. It looked to me like we didn't want to even be there - never came to play. The previous two Elite 8 games, we at least were in it until the bitter end - had a chance to win. Today, we really were never in contention & that's what really bothers me. In the Arky game, we were down almost 40 pts, but at least fought back in the 2nd half to only lose by 11.
Great overall season for the boys, but I sure am sick the way we exited the big stage today - with little overall team effort & Gator passion for competing & fighting til the end. There has to be a reason, not sure what it could be. But for a team loaded with Jrs & Srs, I sure didn't see any emotion that this could be their last game as Gators.
Have some very good kids coming in that should boost the overall team talent & size next season & a nasty, killer highly competitive pt. grd - maybe the best in the USA that is a natural born winner & leader.
Here'e to the Srs boys - great careers, lots of wins & 2 SEC Reg. season titles. Wishing them all the success the world has to offer them! Thanks a million guys!
I thought KB played his a** off....but overall I agree Jeff
Just want everyone to know Duke lost by 21. Some teams have bad games, it happens.

Don't want to call anybody out Bullis, but yes, Kenny gave 100% - left nothing on the floor. Very proud of his effort in his last game as a Gator. We need 5 guys on the court at the same time all the time that play with the intensity KB played with. He didn't quit today.
I can tell you & my fellow Gators that follow Gator basketball on this Board with certainty, Chris Walker at 6'10'' will hustle his ass off when he steps on the floor as a Gator in the future sometime. He'll block shots, rebound & rattle the rim with putback slams when he steps foot in the O for the 1st time. He'll also run the floor like a 100 meter sprinter as well. Add Kasey Hill, Dorian, and Tre with the returning group of players, next season could be the most exciting brand of basketball to hit the O in a long time.
Lots of positives to take away from this season. And I'm not upset we lost - just the way we lost! We just didn't compete today!
True seacrocks, but Duke fought like hell, hustled right til the end. Gators boys didn't, thus the dif in the two losses!
Do you think he'll definitely qualify?
Yeah I agree....will likely need all summer to catch up, and then he will still have to get thru the dreaded NCAA Clearinghouse....we all know how quickly they work lol
Jeff, do you think that in the back of UF's players minds that the previous two tourney runs had anything to do with it? Getting down 13-0 didn't help anything but from the tip UF players had a monkey on there shoulders and to me they never come close to getting this monkey off there shoulders.
Hard to say Jordan why we didn't play with gusto today. It was that way the entire game - never seen the boys play with little to no effort almost 40 minutes. They didn't seem excited one bit to be there. MI was a good team, especially the shooter, but heck, we never really challenged them, never fought back, never had much or any focus. Just a bizarre game to watch. My biggest question mark is what happened to Murph this weekend? Was he ill or hurt or what?? That's not the same Murph we all know & watched this season. Lot of questions there. Pat is not ready for the NBA either. Still has work to do. Hopefully another year & he'll figure it out!
IMO, we made MI look far superior than they really are.
Maybe we stayed in Dallas a week too long??
