Cause recruiting isn't like this..programs like Ole Miss don't land THIS many big name recruits without blatant cheating. Tread showing the money and ring picture. In play and stealing players like Tunsil out of nowhere from major programs like Georgia. Ole Miss fans have to be delusional if they think this is just Freeze being a great recruiter, it's simply not happening unless they are cheating on a massive scale. It's Ole Miss, a poor academic, poor program history, small stadium. Schools like Ole Miss simply do NOT land this level of talent.
So am I off here...or does anyone else think Ole Miss is cheating full scale. Sure most programs do it, but that would mean Ole Miss has to be doubling or tripling the incentives other schools are giving. I have watched recruiting for 10 years and have never seen such a no name school have this much talent swarming to them. Anyone else thinking this?
ESPN needs to run that documentary they did on them from now till signing day.
Smethng defintly Not rite...
i don't tink cheating isn't a possibility.....but we've seen the dominoes fall in our favor (i know we have much more tradition)...but when a few studs commit it starts a domino effect on other recruits...you want to play with other studs...
UF cheated at one time. Just saying.
Ole Miss watched while Auburn, USC, Miss State, Oregon, Clemson and probably Miami have skated around major violations with minimal consequences.
Why wouldn't they cheat. Alabama's the cheating kings, and all they have to show for it is 3 of the last 4 National Titles and tons of cash.
Cheating is in. The NCAA is a joke.
Cheating is back in the NCAA at full force. Big $ boosters have had a decade to figure out how to hide it and they have perfected the system.
Wow got downvoted for stating a fact. UF got caught cheating. FACT.
Very true statement, why shouldn't they cheat?
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
Don't worry about it bro. Many live in glass houses around here.
Sad to see so many throwing out the cheating flag. I've done many games this year and spoke with top coaches in Atl who said Ole Miss has one of the top recruiting staffs in the SEC and not many will outwork them for a target.
30 years ago. Different admin and rules these days.
Ole miss is no different than clemson.
The point isn't that they are just cheating. I doubt any program is scotch clean. It's that it is Ole Miss. They have to be cheating to an EXTREME level to land this amount of talent. Bama has the stadium, the coach, the tradition to constantly land recruits. Sure I know for a fact a certain safety who committed to Bama's mom got a new escalade a week later though they were poor as all heck, but most schools likely do this. The point is for players like Tread, Tunsil, even Hargraves to pay attention to such a nobody...it means their cheating has to be way above and beyond the normal level of cheating. If UF, Bama, OSU, Texas say pay the recruit 2k under the table..Ole Miss has to offering 5k to get the same level of attention. SMU level cheating seems more plausible watching this then Freeze just being a great recruiter. Though I doubt the government is involved here.
Maybe they are following the Cam Newton formula.
Even though I have said this before but everything just fell into place this year for ole miss. They had a decent year which helped. They are obviously getting Robert because of Denzel. They are getting Treadwell because of his best friend is on the team. Antonio Conner is from south panola. Chris jones was not recruited by anyone and wants to stay in ms and if you have been to Starkville or Oxford its a pretty easy decision to make. Tunsil is the only strange one but he wants to get out of Florida and supposedly has grade issues. And Robert seems to be a kid that everyone likes and recruits want to play with him
All I can say is the sun shines even on a dogs ass some days. I don't think there is any guarantee they are cheating. RNK carries a lot of pull. Like the poster said above, dominoes.
So tread's best friend gave him a diamond ring and a stack of 100's? Tunsil was the one when I went..okay this makes no sense. I didn't even hear Ole Miss most of the year. Sure I dropped off caring some when it seemed UF was done but I still didn't remember much at all about Ole Miss for Tunsil.
You are stupid if you think every college doesn't pay recruits something. I'm just saying this was the year where everything went right for them in recruiting.

Hugh Freeze has obviously never met world renowned basketball coach Roy Williams.
There is a good ad for you: "Hugh Freeze reads Gatorbait, 24-7"
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
Well since we are throwing insults, maybe the moron above me learns to read the part where I clearly stated others do it too? Let me guess, that community college degree didn't require basic reading courses ;/. There is luck going your way then there is cheating. Ole Miss boosters are excited from Freeze's year, and decide to get more talent. Can you even name the last top ten recruit to go to Ole Miss? I'll wait.

Can we stop claiming that a school is cheating every time they get recruits? Yeah, it's Ole Miss - so what? They did well and Freeze has instilled excitement about the program. Same thing at UCLA. That's the way it happens.
Who was the recruit whose mother pretty much wouldn't let him go there after she saw "Ghosts of Mississippi?" Was it Scrooge?
Is it just me or is that pretty strange for a coach to respond to message board chatter? I mean, really?
