Sumlin is building a monster.. Saban isn't going to stick around much longer from the sounds of it. I could see A&M becoming top dog with LSU in the coming years.
According to what?
According to swampchomp's newfound insider status. Oi vey!
Good thing we don't have to play them for like another 4 years.
We will be playing them every year in ATL... Yay Baby..
Dang, forgot about that.
Saban's wife was on the radio recently talking about wins not being as fun anymore. That they're a "relief" and expected.. Just heard her interview on the Cowherd show. Sounds very similar to SOS and Urban at UF.
Saban's best buddy is about to be GM with the Browns. Saban recently said that if he returns to the NFL, that guy is who he will work for..
His ego is too big not to give the NFL a shot again. He's about to win his 3rd title in 4 years.. Nothing left to do but go down. Bama already isn't quite as dominant as they've been. Sumlin/Muschamp/Miles etc isn't making it any easier on him. Bama has lucked out with super soft schedules by SEC standards.. That won't last.
Just seems pretty likely he won't finish out his career at Bama. We'll see. Either way we are quickly catching up.
Nick seems to have been an even bigger a$$ recently with the press and the fans. He looks burned out by the whole thing. San Diego, Philidephia, and Jacksonville may be options for him and his buddy too.
I wonder if that's why Kirby's been hanging around...
lol if anyone actually believes Saban is going to head back to the NFL
LORD FORGIVE ME FOR THE GOON DADDY IS COMING OUT TONIGHT
I was thinking the same thing but I could see him leaving for a job like Cleveland. Great fan base, buddy GM and he can run can keep his smash mouth all about D coaching style in the AFC North. Will it happen? Doubt it but if it was one NFL gig he would give a strong look it would be the Browns.
Smoke meet fire . . .
It'll never happen. He was miserable in the NFL
Can you really blame Saban for not doing well with the fins? I mean I don't think anyone can win with those guys.
He was 9-7 his first yr...
Yeah which is amazing. I think he would do good in the NFL, I didn't think his NFL career was miserable he just had a shitty team.
I didn't say his NFL career was miserable, I said HE was miserable. He hated coaching NFL players
He coached the miami dolphins...even Jimmy Johnson hated coaching there.
Guy has 5+ years coaching the league can't hate it too much it he's tried it 3 different times. Hell Pete Carroll even went back.
Ohh, I took it as he was miserable in the NFL as in he sucked as a coach.... my bad.
I have a hard time believing PC didn't go back mostly because of the shitstorm that was heading it's way to USC
He coached the Dolphins under one of the most beloved owners in the league, infact the only reason why he came was because huizenga personally flew there and he had so much respect for him that he couldn't turn him down.
Coaches loved to coach for Huizenga, Jimmy Johnson didn't last in miami because he clashed with Marino
LOL Saban will retire at Bama. Sounds like you need to find another source.
Saban is King of Alabama. Totally revered. What he has going on in Tuscaloosa is unheard of. Hard to see Saban walking away from that. Saban just needs a season of struggle to get him remotivated if he slides a little. Guy is still killing it in recruiting and the NFL still validates him every draft. Look for him to hang around for a while.
I think Saban was 5-7 his first year. I don't think Bama played 16 games that year. ( 9-7 )
Talking about the Miami Dolphins not Bama
1. Sumlin is building a 2nd or 3rd place team in the west. Next year will be reality.
2. All of this Saban talk is just from Collin Cowherd blowin his horn. But the soon to be Browns GM is targeting him so to speak. It very well could be Sabans call, and his wife's comments do lean toward him getting less from it then he once did.
Until the season is over it is nothing to even discuss, as no imformation will be credible or reliable until something is done or not done. But who cares really, WM is building something Saban nor Meyer has had many just don't see it yet. WM's longevity and youth along with success and U of F location will resemble some of the dynasty programs of old. Keep everything going in the direction it is now and noone will talk about Saban nearly as often in a few years. Keeping coordinators will be the biggest challenge short term as this is built to win now. The next set of them will get a little more use as they will be for and from a longevity standpoint.
