A very reasoned response.
There's a difference between being "butthurt" and a fanbase thats speaking the truth.
Your 2cents is unwarranted because you are obviously unaware that some fans weren't too fond of Meyer, even through the wins.
The notion, or belief, that Meyer "upgraded or built" this program up is far from the truth. Not only Meyer, but UF has plenty coaches that succeed here, and know that there job is one of the limited premier jobs in the country.
Your Saban comment is disrespectful because the coaching position will never define this program, as it shouldnt OSU's. But, OSU fans obviously forgot that, seeing how Tressel was God there.
Meyer came in hungry and left out bloated, and when you put too much on your plate, you probably are guilty of being too damn greedy.
His comment, his last yr here, halftime of the MSU gm, where he was angry that the squad was embarrassing. He said, during the interview on live tv, that the players werent "representing the type of program that he and his staff built at UF."
No Mr. Meyer sir, UF will not be remembered because of Urban, but Meyer will always be remembered because of UF. Isn't that how he got the "prestigious OSU job?"
Other than that, I expect Meyer to do good things at OSU.
And, I would assume that Im speaking for most of us, when I say our fanbase is 100% behind UF's Mr. Foley, and 110% behind the current staff.
Meyer was winning before he got to UF. 12-0 and a BCS win.
You can claim that UF was a big time program when he got there but it only had one NC. Ever.
He left it with 2 more.
Ah, I opened the thread to find devidee and I wasn't disappointed to see his same inane, retarded drivel.
devidee's response is very typical of most buckeye fans right now -- "haha, we got meyer and you're just butthurt"
Glossing over the fact that he is very much a shady guy with a lot of former players ratting him out now. Remember when recruits would bad mouth UF after they chose someone else? Looks like it wasn't just because they were told to do it -- I'd bet they really felt that way about Meyer.
And he's not a god either, bucknut people. He created an issue that he now chastises so recruits won't choose his former school. I'm sure had Meyer left and not created a s***storm here then most people wouldn't care as much, but the whole "butthurt" nonsense is so ridiculous. Yes, Meyer did some great things for us, but he also bent us over when he left which is what OSU fans should be very wary of right now. It's like the story of the frog and the scorpion.
"Why'd you do that??? You killed us both!" "Well, I am a scorpion. It's what I do."
Coincidentally I find it ironic that the Noles are down and that's why UF wins, but when UF is down the Noles can't win either. Good times.
"But first I win two national champions, frog. Now shut up die."
Yes UF was a bigtime program under Spurrier, one of the best during his tenure.
Meyer replenished it.
Dont confuse bigtime with historical. For all of OSU's history how many championships since 96?
lol, this ends justify the means stuff is complete garbage nonsense
Meyer is a great coach -- no doubt about it. He also tanked a program and was disingenuous about how it went down. You OSU homers act like just because he's at OSU now he'll easily win yet OSU only has one extremely flawed title (hello, pass interference?) in 40 years.
It's cool though -- you guys will get the ass end of the stick soon enough. Whether or not he actually wins against the elites of Bama or LSU again remains to be seen. Oh, and keep in mind Meyer couldn't beat Michigan either.
They have one title that is horribly tainted by a phantom PI call. Before that it was all leather helmets and racism. Nevermind that though -- OSU is where it's at.
Sounds bout right.
I dont even know what to say to this. SMH
Agreed, other than slightly bumping our prestige I don't see how you could argue that he left the program better than he found it. That's just ludicrous. In Meyer's 2nd year, we had the talent on the roster to win an MNC with very few of Meyer's recruits contributing. Compare that to where we are in 2012 and it's not even close.
hell he won a national champinship with players Rod zook left him.not to damn bad.
I would actually say yes,-in one offseason a few years back we had several players with ACL injuries. No one could figure if it was just a freak thing,-or if it had something to do with the practices/conditioning...
que? The players Ron Zook left him were elite. People like to forget that Zook was one of the best recruiters in the nation while he was at UF. Ron Zook also didn't leave us with depleted numbers, especially along both lines of scrimmage.

Zook was a good recruiter and had a team full of good players. He was just a terrible coach.
Lots of talent.
"Who was your source? Church mice in here....." - Coach Muschamp
Lots of insecurity shown by you. Considering you have to come to a board to defend a member of your program. Why do you care what we have to say? Nothing anyone has said is unfair IMO, it's their opinion.
You guys hire Charlie cheeseburger as you OC and wonder why your offense sucks. If I recall, the defense was more than capable.
Your coach will be a pretty good HC, but is going to have to cut his teeth for a few years before you are back to the level of play desired. We would be in the same situation if Luke was still our HC and could still be with Meyer.
I am sure Meyer would like to go back and change a few things that happened. What coach does not have those thoughts (Jim Tressel, Joe Pa, Chip Kelly, etc). Those were/are still very good coaches that would love to change some things from the past.

Don't know much about history do you?
Florida's first NC was WON in 84 (it was just stripped 6 months later thanks to Charlie Pell)
Mostly on results from my viewpoint. I think under the Zooker I recall a feeling of lack of control and no championships. Meyer ended with a lack of control but a couple MNCs. Either way when he got here we had one trophy and when he left we had three. I think revenue wise and facilities, Gators grew a lot under Meyer but I do not have the stats.
