I smell some BS
"Who was your source? Church mice in here....." - Coach Muschamp
"On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Te’o and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in which someone using the fictitious name Lennay Kekua apparently ingratiated herself with Manti and then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had tragically died of leukemia. The University immediately initiated an investigation to assist Manti and his family in discovering the motive for and nature of this hoax. While the proper authorities will continue to investigate this troubling matter, this appears to be, at a minimum, a sad and very cruel deception to entertain its perpetrators."
Smells like b/s to me

That's pretty specific naming a date. Going to be easy to pick apart if he talked about it after that date (almost certainly did) and questions about why he continued to act as if it was legit.

so their are three possibilities he is gay, their are no hot girls on Notre Dame' campus or he got tired of cheating on his make believe girlfriend
it's weird that pirates would go from shore to shore looking for treasure when the real treasure was in the friendships they were making
I hope the girlfriend story really is a hoax because then it would mean a young woman didnt have to suffer through all of that. But still it's not a good story either way now and this looks like the ugly truth.
Ohhh let's doooo it
ooorrrannngeeee and bluuueee it
Yep... Pretty sure they spoke about it before or during the BCS game. LMAO what a POS.
Either way you slice it he is still extremely overrated and Notre Dame can kick rocks
Wow, when I saw it on the MB I thought "ya right". Obviously I was mistaken, and I have also heard of some D bag stories on his little Heisman tour. I thought it was all sour grapes of some sort, but maybe not! What a crazy world we live in.
Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
Alex Anzalone just tweeted a picture of him and Manti Te'o from about 7 months ago ... the girlfriend commented on it.
Here's that Anzalone photo.
Was just going to say that. Saw that on the ND board.
And once again, I'm too slow for ya'.

This is crazy stuff
I think Manti was just a little embarassed to admit he met her on E-Harmony.
When my fake girlfriend that went to a different school moved away I never got this much press.
Wow super creepy

"I'm lennay btw'
that looks like a red flag right there, as if someone couldnt tell from the twitter handle. Trying too hard to fool someone
wow hard to believe someone would make up a story like this what worthless pos if this is true.
Kid is a head case if this is true. Sounds like a joke went too far and then went out of control. WTF about his parents quoting on this? They had her to their house?
Can you say Draft Stock? If true then you gotta believe that NFL teams are wondering about him.
I think NFL teams will worry more about watching Eddie Lacy running him over versus him being on Catfish: Season 2...
Espn has picked the story up now. News conference @ 8pm eastern on espnnews
"They started out as just friends," Brian Te'o said. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there. But within the last year, they became a couple.
"And we came to the realization that she could be our daughter-in-law. Sadly, it won't happen now."
That was posted in an article in October 2012. They cant keep lying. The evidence is overwhelmingly against them. They might have been hoaxed themselves but they used it, instead of releasing what really happened.
