Who would be your favorite, realistic option to replace Muschamp. Im not saying we need to get the pitchforks out because I think right now he is the right man but Im just curious for others opinions.
I'm still with Muschamp, but James Franklin would be my pick.
I wouldnt want Charlie. I think our next coach should be an experienced stud. Just because he was a Gator doesnt mean hes the right man
God I hate this fanbase sometimes.
This, i wouldn't support firing Muschamp unless we got Pete.
HBC would be the greatest thing ever. Why do people say Carrol, I dont think we would have a shot
HYPOTHETICALLY if Muschamp was forced out next year than I would give Bob Stoops a call. After that Mike Gundy. But I really want Muschamp to succeed
I'm not playing this game until 2014.
1. Has to be offensive minded
2. Able to re-ignite the fan base which I think is very apathetic concerning the program right now
3. Legitimate recruiter
4. Head Coaching Experience
Give me a coach that has already succeeded. I don't want to try and find the next "big thing."
I say Charlie
I actually would really like James Franklin, but this talk is way too premature.
Vandy went 2-6 in the SEC last season..I know, I know they were close. Franklin is a great self promoter who likes to toot his own horn but truth be known Bobby Johnson and Gerry Dinardo both had a better SEC record at Vandy than Franklin had last season.
I'd choose Muschamp
Yes, I know he is shady and cheats on his wife, but the man can freakin' coach. Please Petrino please!
Amen brother, this board has been ridiculously stupid and whiny today.
I would swap 3 and 4 on your list. Recruiting is the LEAST important trait for UF football coach. You have to try not to have talent on a UF football team. UF always has talent.
As for offensive minded, the next coach needs to have an offensive philosophy that has some chance to work in the big time games UF plays each year. Anyone could see UF was in trouble offensively early last season as you were not going to be able to out run SEC defenses consistently even if your name is Demps or Raney. This year we are apparently going to try to run the ball down the throat of SEC teams. Color me skeptical. I am not a pass the ball all over the field guy either, but the next coach needs to have a reasonable offensive philosophy.
I would add to this, the next coach needs to be a guy with enough stature to turn this program back into a meritocracy. The players and the fan base need to be confident that the best players are playing.
Why is this even a thread?
Hypothetical of the day: What if we lose our next two games or three out of the next four...how do you feel about Muschamp then?
