in a revealing interview with Newberg Matthew Thomas said he wanted to go to USC and announce for them on NSD, however his mother refused to sign his LOI. So they compromised and he signed with FSU instead
these mommas these days..smh
LORD FORGIVE ME FOR THE GOON DADDY IS COMING OUT TONIGHT
The part about Kirkland was the craziest part. He thought MT6 was going to USC. If he'd told him he was signing with FSU, Kirkland would've followed him.
And Miami pulled Kirkland's offer bc Coley told them Thomas wasn't coming. All makes sense now.
These mom's need to let their kids go to the school of their choice and be 100% in their corner (ex. D Rob's mom).
I was so used to the "mentors" in South Florida. Now I gotta switch over to the Mom's.
Need a new reality show--Mentors and Mom's.
can still remember Antone Smith's momma freaking out and running out of the gymnasium crying because he picked FSU over Miami
Alex Collins mom is a prime example.
If I was his mom, I wouldn't let him go to USC either. Wait, we are talking about S. Cal aren't we?
I have to side w/ the mom in this case tho. We are talking about Kiffin here.
Not sure I buy this. Don't think Noles were ever worried about him signing anywhere else especially USC, and after they started bleeding commits.
disagree...mom raised these kids often time w/ no father no help, no money they put these kids on their backs for 18yrs....they got every **legal** right to have a say in decision IF the kid still a minor....not saying that momma gonna make the right decision but these kids arent making the right decision at times themselves....they need guidance no question -- unfort most of em just have handlers hoping to go along for ride
lets be honest -- these kids arent the brightest and are getting fed so much nonsense from BS'ing coaches who are just trying to get the LOI faxed in and then dont have any intention of honoring the promises they made to the kid (ie switching jobs post NSD, or promising to be the kids coach all 4 yrs but jumping for next best job 1yr later etc)
The "legal" right doesn't make it "ethically" right. Though anything quote on quote ethical notion is up for subjective review by anyone. The herd mentality of our culture creates an almost innate bias one way or another.
Walk softly but carry a big stick.
I'm with Chomps.
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
Talking ethics and Kiffin in the same breathe is rich.
