The 1-4 vs. RPI top whatever also says Kentucky schedules pretty rigorously.
I think a 21-win Kentucky team makes the tournament because of that scheduling (this saved UF in 2010, when a No. 10 seed seemed like both a gift and a massive overseed for a 21-12, 9-7 team even though it had beaten Sparty and FSU and played 'Cuse and Richmond in non-con) and because it's Kentucky, but I also think Kentucky ends up closer to 25 wins. Even a bad Kentucky team is way, way better than 2/3rds of the SEC this year.
Edit: I meant 2010, not 2009.

Thomas, you think UK will lose 6 SEC games!? I just don't see it! I think we can beat them twice and Mizzou, but who else??
Well, a 6-7 Vanderbilt team that lost its top 3 players from last season almost got the job done last night. I think UK will get better but conference play is tougher and road games are difficult to win for non dominant teams. With that being said I beleive UK drops the following games on their schedule:
vs. UT, @ Bama, @ A&M, @UF, @UT, vs. Mizz, and vs. UF
I think they finish 20-11 (11-7) but make a run in the SEC tournament and get into the NCAAs as a 9 seed

Well, that's 12 wins in the league with the new schedule, which really isn't too shabby.

I agree with what you are saying, but I just can't see 3 more losses in the conference. Winning at Rupp is hard, and the other SEC teams just aren't that skilled. I know they play at the Tad Pad vs Ole Miss. That could be an L.
Agree to disagree, then. Kentucky's just not that good this year.
UK could lose those games. I think it is going to be hard for any team to win at Rupp. Of course Baylor did it already this year. I don't think UT will beat UK, especially twice. The Mizzou game is the College GameDay game at Rupp. We shall see. I think we can win twice...I hope so!
Ya. They have thier moments. I love College Basketball and discussing it with other Gator fans. Wish we had more basketball discussions! Thanks TG!
Do you get involved with basketball recruiting as much as football? I know basketball is a little more difficult with limited scholarships, but I'm curious.
Not really. Just doesn't get the views to justify a lot of coverage at the moment. Maybe as we expand we can cover it more.
If they lose 7 SEC games will they have enough quality wins to get into the NCAA tournament, without actually winning the SEC tournament? They only have 1 victory against a top 100 RPI team (Maryland at 91) right now. Vandy was their 2nd best win with an RPI of 146. After that they have no wins in the top 200.
I think in the end they will make the tournament because they are UK and because they have a roster full of young stars. I wouldnt be suprised to see them win the SEC tournament
