D.J. Durkin should be here any second to give us some updates on the defense. Posting live updates here, stories to follow.

Durkin on McMillian: "He flashes what we thought he was ... but he's still learning." Gotta be more consistent and get better at learning everything. Same thing he told Nick Washington the other day.
Fowler has really progressed in his first spring. This is his first real offseason because he got in late last summer. Very coachable, doing a great job of improving everything. "That guy has a really bright future ahead of him."
Powell has been doing a great job in terms of how relentless he is rehabbing. Brings it every day, they think he'll be ready to go in August.
Riggs has done well at safety, has a good understanding of the defense as an older guy. Safety has progressed well, but they're not there yet, still have to make some strides. Marcus Maye is a guy that is basically on the freshman learning curve because of his injury last year limiting for fall camp and during the first half of the season. Definitely thinks he's starting to get it a little more and will be a great player down the road.
Durkin said the communication in the secondary is very good when the 1s are in there, but it's a work in progress with the 2s and 3s. The guys that are comfortable and confident with the defense call it pretty well.
Durkin said there has been some rust with Purifoy at corner after playing offense, but they're sure they can get it tuned up and back to speed before the end of spring.
