I did read all your posts, and the point you're trying to make is a poor one. I was stating my opinion which is that your school lost any ability to comment on the BCS when it lost to NC State. The fact that your coach is still trying to make a case for FSU as the best one loss team (which is what he did by mentioning his ballot) is laughable. Strength of schedule matters to anyone has been paying attention to college football for the last decade. It is how the game is played, it is how the rules are stated, it is how it is. Get over it.
well i expect him to campaign for FSU, its kind of his job but everyone knows it aint gonna happen. either way, the way things are done with the BCS still sucks. auburn in 04 when they went 13-0 and didnt get in, 07 LSU and last year are why the BCS is absolutely god awful and there is no defence for it
FSU Ambassador to the masses
It was/is when compared to the system it replaced. The old way typically prevented the two best teams from even playing due to the bowl/conference affiliations. That was it's primary purpose, to allow 1 vs 2 which it has done well. In what year did you think the best team was left out (other than Auburn which didn't benefit from the SEC bias/justified correction factor)? Who was the best team in 07?
I'm grateful for the BCs for ending the rose bowl protection of overrated Big 10 and PAC 10 teams.
Phillip has poaster in A very objective maner, glad to hear from him.
I didn't realize "get over it" would be taken so personally. Read my posts I'm not coming after the guy.
Whomever is supporting the eyeball test must have not realized that this season alone the talking heads have told us USCw was unbeatable, then WVA unbeatable, Stanford, FSU, and now it's Oregon and ND.
Do you honestly think with the schedule Florida has this year that you would go 9-1 as well?

yes and no
weve got the talent to beat all those teams and i think we would have switched up the teams you lost to. i think wed have lost to LSU and beaten georgia. a hard schedule is good and bad. your players are seasoned and play better against tougher competition but can also get worn down faster. the games we have played crappy in were against the lesser teams which is counterintuitive. the players looked unfocussed and not into the game because the teams were pushovers. ball discipline and execution became sloppy. its worth noting that execution became remarkably better against miami and VT when they realized that they werent going to win if they didnt pick it up. our coaches cant seem to keep the guys up against inferior comp but can keep them motivated against decent teams. when you know you have a tough match every week it keeps the kids focussed more.
We get worn down faster?
Phillip is about to be out with a "knee injury".
Wtf is he talking about...FSU has looked bad vs BAD teams. Sorry but he needs to stfu.....FSU has played a pathetic schedule and hasn't been impressive at all.
Should I be surprised you beat teams like Duke and Wake bad? You should do that...Bama certainly would.
Should I be impressed your vaulted defense let the only top team you play score 35 points...cause I'm not.
Should I care that you've played one ranked team...all season Jimbo. Naw..earn the ranking..don't cry for it.
The team you lost to lost to Tennessee. Enough said.
But when u play good teams (very loosely on good) like Clemson, you let them score 30+ points and let teams like Miami and VT keep it close and let a team like BC BEAT you is unacceptable. Florida is a 2nd year team w/ a new offensive scheme so growing pains are expected, but FSU is in year 5 under Jimbo. Motivation issues are supposed to be taken care of by now especially in the ACC.
the transitive property does not apply to football. if we beat you that means we would be better than LSU because you beat them, and better than alabama because TAMU beat them and you guys beat TAMU.
sounds pretty stupid kinda like your comment. i dont know why people bring things like this up

ummmm we annihilated BC
FSU is in year 3 under jimbo. offense is in year 5 although it is a bit different than where it started and team is in year 3
motivation is a tough thing when you have talented kids who just assume they will roll over the opposition, i think the ULL game is a good example and comes to mind for you guys.
you're going to kneecap me? wow thats rough man
yeah you get physically worn down faster because your players get mauled by other elite athletes. Duke players wont wear down our OL like LSU players will wear yours down
im the first person to say that our schedule sucks complete ass and i would trade with you guys in a heartbeat

Lol no, it was a reference to you failing a drug test.
10-4 good buddy
Except we BEAT ULL.. I can't recall a single game UF has lost against a team with vastly inferior talent.. I think I'd have to go all the way back to 2004 when we lost to Miss State and Zook was fired the following Monday.
Even in our terrible last two years, we beat the Vandy's, UK's, UT's, and even both bowl games (Ohio State and Penn State)
Jimbo has lost to NC State twice, UVA, Wake Forest.. Those teams are like the Vandy's and UK's for FSU.. Had FSU beaten Nc State, even by ONE point, Jimbo would atleast have some ground to speak out the way he is.
However, he's shown year after year that he CANNOT keep his team focused and he's rarely had them playing up to their potential.
Occasionally FSU will put together a good couple weeks in a row, then lose to a crap team. That is an indictment of your coaching staffs ability to take care of business.
They can recruit top classes every year and it won't matter if they can't get them to play up to their talent level, week after week. Its all about taking care of business against the good AND bad teams. Thats what championship teams and coaches do and thats what Jimbo absolutely has NOT done.
How dare he not be a national championship level coach after 3 years, I agree Swamp.... that is inexcusable

fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
i agree. its baffling how we can blow it against inferior teams. the loss to NC state in 2010 wasnt on Jimbo though. that one was on ty jones for not paying attention to what he was doing and running right into ponder's arm and knocking the ball out of his hand. coincidentally jones didnt play much for the rest of the year because of that.
i dont think your coaches had much to do with pulling the ULL game out. that one was all on the players coming up with the play at the end of the game.
lolz at your agreeing with him, Jimbo has been a HC for 3 years and had to clean a shit storm of a mess
He has done so, improved each season and continues to get better and better as does his team
What Swamp said was holding Jimbo to a Sabanesq level of accomplishment which is just unfair for a young HC
Muschamp hasn't even won his division yet but you don't see writing a thesis on how and why he sucks, cause Im a little more fair than Swamp to a young coach
Give Jimbo an OL and truly great QB and FSU is cruising to a NC this year, FSU will get there under Jimbo.... I have no doubts
If muschamp got to play in the acc, he'd have locked up a division title already.
How do you know, at FSU ? I doubt that, he has proven nothing that says he is better or more capable than Jimbo
I mean, they went head to head last year and FSU blew nuts while still kicking that ass in your house
That was a major L for Muschamp's resume imo, FSU didn't even gain 100 yards total and still won by 2 TD's lol
Jimbo is in year three, with his OC years this is his team. For the year so far Muschamp has a hell of a better resume. Now we play in a couple weeks, so we'll see where we're at this year. FSU should win at least in pre season hype. You've beaten the two worst UF teams in the last 20 years, and you're welcome to feel good about that, but Muschamp is overhauling our entire team, and we're winning on the road and at home. I feel pretty good about our direction.
Now as for the thread itself...Jimbo came off as a whiney pile of sh**. Even non-gators if they are paying attention to your coach at all given his lack of relevance think so.
