Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and DeAndre Liggins all declared for the NBA Draft Wednesday morning. At this point, none of the three have hired an agent so they will have the option of returning to college. They have until May 8 to decide if they are going to return to college.
Knight and Jones are projected as lottery picks while Liggins could go in the latter stages of the first round.

Liggins wont make it in the NBA, imho. At the very most I can see him as a player that makes a roster to sub for someone that might get hurt. If Brewer can barely get any minutes, Liggins isn't either.
Like Corey Brewer, Liggins will always have a place in the NBA because he can play defense. The minutes might not be great but the paychecks aren't bad.
I really think Knight stays in. One of the big problems with Cal and UK is if you go there as a high profile recruit there is somebody coming in behind you the next year. I have heard Knight is concerned if he stays he will play a lot of the WG position and Teague will play PG. Knight does not want to do that.
Having watched Marquis Teague blow up on the court last year at the Peach Jam when he was screaming at his teammates and playing like it was all about himself, I'm not sure he won't be the weak link at Kentucky this year. Knight was never the weak link. I think Knight is so much stronger mentally than Teague will ever be.
Liggins will not hire an agent and be back for UK. The only reason I think Liggins stays in the draft, is because he just had a baby girl in March and wants to provide for hos family. At the end of the day, who can blame them for entering the NBA. Cash rules and makes the world go 'round.
At this point Id settle for getting two of the three back. We will have a very good team next year, especially defensively.
My gut says Jones and Liggins return and Knight moves on, but nothing would surprise me. Hopefully the rumors about a mandatory two year rule (in college) goes into effect for this class coming in.
The USA Today AA team is out today. The Ky Kitties signed two of the top five along with two third teamers. Cal's recruiting is amazing. Brad Beal is a first teamer and Rivers is the Player of the year.
Rivers is overrated IMO. I love Beals game. He's got great size and athletic ability.
The best player in the class is either Anthony Davis or Michael Gilcrist however, the player with the most NBA potential is Davis IMO. Kid has serious upside.
Austin isn't overrated in the least. My only question with him is can he really be content in a structured offense where everyone gets their shots instead of one in which he plays the dominant role in the offense. At Duke he will have to play defense or he won't get on the floor so he's going to have to be dedicated to something he's never done all that much or all that well.
But if you cut him loose offensively, he can do some astonishing things. There is no questioning the talent level with him.
He plays ZERO defense and has no idea how to include his teammates on the offensive end of the floor....therefore is nowhere near the best high school player in America which is why I say he's overrated. ESPN finally figured that out too and moved him out of the #1 spot....#2 is also too high for him IMO.
He can shoot but will not get into the paint against good competition (see Jordan Classic). He needs to know his role on offense (shooting the ball) and understand he is not John Wall or Derrick Rose, he's a shooter. Plain and simple.
Gilcrist = McDonald's AA and Game MVP
Davis = Jordan Brand Classis Game (not sure if they gave away an MVP trophy, but if they did, he would've gotten it) 29 pts and 8 rebs along with a couple of blocks
Cook is a better player/recruit for Duke than Rivers.
