So I just signed up a free account and will most likely take the plunge now that I am not poor. I have been using my friends account which was Rolltide. I know it was embarassing but I am poor and had to pay other bills (had back surgery) before I could get an account.
I went to UF and love UF football. I worked at Grog and Balls for 3 years and got to know a lot of the players. Most of them were good guys ( Haden, Gilbert, Tony Joiner, Etc..) but some I had altercations with so if you ever want to hear some good stories just ask and I would be more than happy to tell.
I played high school football in Belle Glade (Glades Day) and still visit there as often as I can and talk to my coaches about the current players and up in coming players. All my high school coaches say Kelvin is not only a great RB but a good kid. They say he is very humble even though a player like him should be pretty cocky.
This site is by far the best site. Luke and Thomas do a great job at getting the articles out quickly and with a lot of information so Kudos to you guys.
I just wanted to say hey and I apologize for going under Rolltide. It hurt to post under that name.
Worked at balls eh? So u know THE ROCK
LORD FORGIVE ME FOR THE GOON DADDY IS COMING OUT TONIGHT
Welcome to the site Muckgator. I know a few people from your area.
Welcome aboard. Glad to see you created your own account.
Yes, I know Rock very well. I believe he is going to bartend at Balls until he dies.
TW, who do you know? I may know them as well.
Well I know Happy Tucker
Welcome fellow Gator.
when u have time tell us some stories
scrape the sides up...
Welcome. I'll be the first to ask, can you tell us a story about an altercation that won't get anyone in trouble or make them look bad, but maybe a funny story about a former player??

No most the guys are graduated so it won't cause them any harm. One story is about Drew Miller almost killing a kid. Drew Miller, Steve Rissler, Javier Estopinaian and a few other guys were always in there acting up but for the most part pretty cool. This kid starts running his mouth to Rissler who was graduated and wasnt nearly as big as when he played at UF. Probably lost 80 pounds. Anyways we break it up and tell Miller and Rissler to walk away we will talk to this idiot. Well the kid keeps running his mouth and out of nowhere Drew Miller blindsides this kid with a shove so hard the kids went airborn in to the sidebar wall at Grog. I swear if the wall wasn't there the kid would still be flying. My instincts kick in and I slam in to Rissler, who at this time was drunk and off balance and me and him go flying through the side bar door on to the ground. It made me look like a badass but he was just off balance. Anyways we kick him out and ban him for about a month until he learns how to behave in a bar. When I go back to check on the kid I am seriously expecting a dead or near dead human being, but he is up with only a scratch on his cheek and still talking shit. I do not know how this kid walked away from this push/slam but he did.
There is another one about Hernandez that I will save for a rainy day.
Hernandez stories are the best.
I'll never forget pulling up at a stoplight in Gainesville one time about to make a right turn. Hernandez pulled up next to me on his scooter, looked over at me and reached into his jacket and pulled out a bottle of Jack. Opened it, took a swig with a big grin, then turned back and waited for the light.

Sounds like you would be a good message board mod. I'd like to introduce you to a guy named Gators813.
Good stuff fellas
keep bringing the stories
Ya the kid is good football player but he isn't a very good person. He did the same thing at Grog in front of our manager even when the manager told him to put down the shot. He just took it and walked back in to the crowd. I was off that night but drinking, so I watched it all unfold. One of our bouncers got to him and grabbed him under the arm pits and pushed him all the way to the front door garbage can where he fell in to. Well while all this was happneing more bouncers were converging, but so were the Pouncey Twins because they saw their friend getting pushed. They were cool about it once they realized that it was security and they had nothing to gain from fighting the security. My friend said he pulled on one of the Pounceys as hard as he could to get him away from the scuffle and he didn't even budge and my friend is a decent size guy. It was funny to hear him tell it because he said he felt so tiny and weak next to those big guys.
Don't be embarrassed because you couldn't afford to pay for a monthly membership here.
Welcome to the board man, nice stories by the way.
Was this while you were a student?
Yeah, before I started working in the media.
+1 for the stories, ive only came across Brian Crum and Trent Pupello while working in the bar scene in GA, unfortunately alot of GA players though...
Thanks man. Alot of the players were cool. Joe Haden was one of the nicest guys along with Tony Joiner. Marcus Gilbert used to be my nemesis because he would always drink under age with wreckless abandon. He wasn't hard to spot because he is a big boy. We banned him until he was 21. The day he turned 21 its like he turned a new page. Apologized to all the employees for past events and now we are pretty good friends. He ended up being a nice guy.
Thats awesome, haha i dare to ask, did you ever run across Percy or Spikes or Brandon James?
Percy was out all the time smoking like it was his job. He used to go to gator city and grog when in mid town
