ESPN article on his recruitment. 7 analysts predicted where he will choose and not a single one of them picked UF. Only one of them even mentioned UF. 3 picked UK, 3 picked Tex, and one guy picked Kansas. I'm not sure what is going on with JR but it has been a long time since I have heard any warm news regarding UF/Randle
I have all but given up on Randle. Now, I am hoping Pat Young will come back. He will give us a big with experience, something we will need.
Our beat shot with Randle was always if he decided to sign early, that has not changed. I do not see him at UF.
Welcome back Bullis. It's bball season. Where you been?
@KB, I agree. Before the season I was saying Pat would go off this year and get drafted in the top 10. So far I have been WAY off. The beast inside of him remains dormant and until it comes out he will remain a 8 pt 3 boards a night player and more than likely return for his senior season. Also, I beleive he really needs to develop a jumper before leaving for the NBA. But having him back next year will be great and because of it our team will be loaded!
@Bullis, I remember most people saying we needed to hear something extremely positive or even get a verbal from JR when he was on campus. Maybe we get him back for an unofficial this spring but it seems doubtful. Too bad because I think Billy REALLY wants to coach this kid
So are we looking at anyone else for 2013? Maybe some underrated kids that pop up in the spring, or some transfers?
Maybe, currently if Pat comes back and Kurtz & BDJr remain walk ons we will have 12 on scholarship for next season which leaves us with 1 scholarship. Some players will decommit or ask for releases after the handful of coaches are fired in the spring and some players will transfer from their current schools. With our depth next year it wouldn't suprise me to see us go after a transfer big that could be ready the next season since we could potentially have a very thin front court in 2014 depending on what CWalker, Harris, and DFS decide to do after next season

Randle isn't going to Kentucky. I'm also hearing he may return to Gville for a unofficial visit before making a decision. If he does we have a great shot to land him. If not he will most likely end up at Texas. Like Tech said. There will be some kids that get there release toward end of year during coaching carousel. IMO we will add another prospect in the spring for 2013 class or pick up another transfer. As of right now Pat will most likely return for senior yr. But that could change if he picks up his game in SEC play and we make a deep run in tourney.

Great post, and I agree. You said it yourself that he hasn't eliminated us yet, and as I recall, isn't he known for being open with schools and cutting them when he's reached the conclusion that he's no longer interested? Doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would lead us on until the end if we didn't have some chance, however how small, of him coming here.
Yeah, I am not very concerned about an article where the almost half the "analysts" say a guy is going to UK who very likely is not. As for other issues that have been raised:
1. One of the best predictors in how well you do in the NBA draft is your team playing in the final four. Thus UF winning one more game this year might really influence what is best for Young.
2. Maybe The Time They Are A-Changin in terms of whether or not UF gets anyone else this off season. If the transfer rule is changed as proposed, then UF may well get another player next season. And that player might be eligible next season. Heck for the worriers if the rule passes, Calipari might be able to put together an all star team of guys with college experience each year.
3. I too have been looking for and am glad to see some Bullis33 input again.
Texas about to drop to 8-8 and 0-3 in conference w/ loss to lowly Iowa St squad ......doesnt look like Mycko Kabango ever going to play in college again but havent done the work
small chance Barnes not retained, bigger chance they are NIT bound at best....texas not making NCAA certainly cant hurt us ...if kid wants to win and win big vs be the superstar on an avg team at best then no decision b/w UF vs UTx....Kansas obv a huge wildcard / thorn in our side too
Correct. He will struggle eliminating the home team, but as many on here have said (Bullis mainly), he wants a legit shot at getting in the F. Four. I think he's trying to convince himself he can carry TX there if he signs with Barnes. Not in today's world of basketball! Not with Barnes as the Captain of the ship!!
JR does love Billy - which is why UF has not been eliminated.
Hear a ''Big Gator'' has an in home with J. Berry tomorrow here in O-Town! I whispered in a certain VIP's ear last nite at the Lake Highland/Hagarty game I was saving ''her'' a seat in the O-Dome in 2014! Got a big hug back & she whispered that a Big Gator was coming over to visit the fam!!
If JR wants to win a championship he will go to UK, UF or KU. I hope he goes to UF or P Young comes back!
