Looks like he will finish out the season for UK, but the search has already started
First, I would like to thank the fans that have supported this football team at Commonwealth Stadium and on the road this year. It has been a difficult season thus far, losses none of us wished to experience and injuries that have taken their toll on an already young squad.
New coach will be #GatorBait
I have no idea who they'll go after, but I'd take a shot at Sonny Dykes.
dude will get picked up as a DC somewhere, UK is just an awful spot as a HC
LORD FORGIVE ME FOR THE GOON DADDY IS COMING OUT TONIGHT
Lots and lots and lots of talk about David Cutcliffe. He's a classy dude and won't talk with them now, but I know they are going to make a run at him. The big problem is that their facilities are so bad, the stadium is falling apart, and the athletic department doesn't allocate nearly enough money to the football program. So many things about that program drive me nuts. If I were a coach, I would run as far away from that job as I possibly could.
Calipari gonna coach both. Imagine the cheating he can do with all those scholarships.
"You're not a good guy, you go somewhere else. We'll play you. We'll beat you."
The two names that have been going around in Lex are Dykes and Cutcliffe...there is some connection to AD or something with Cutcliffe. Dykes seems like a better choice. Probably smart to get a headstart with other positions opening up soonsoon (AU, Ark, Tenn)
I wonder if Tennessee's AD gives into Peyton's wishes and hires him to replace Dooley. They'll be able to recruit top QB's year-in and year-out and Peyton would make it rain.
what about taggert at WKU?
Wouldn't surprise me to see Cutcliffe at Tennessee next year.
Sad to see him go. He made great Gator bait.
Sad when University of Kentucky is the third best team in the state. WKU and Louisville are better then them.
I know personally that Taggart HATES UK. Hated their facilities and staff. He was pretty open going into the UK game and after that he had more disdain for UK than any school on the schedule.
One thing that infuriated him was that UK's gameday staff refused to let the trainers, student assistants, GA's, and other staff on the field before the game. Trainers weren't allowed to set-up equipment, bring bikes out, or get anything else setup nearly as early as they wanted to. Word got back to Taggart, and he wanted to go take care of it, but the strength coach insisted that he do it. WKU's strength coach is alot like Dillman, just not quite as off his rocker. He got in the face of UK's gameday staff and walked the WKU staff onto the field. That was very close to kickoff. That was just the cherry on top for Taggart. He really likes Joker, but hates UK. WKU's AD has been called by 6 BCS schools requesting interviews, but the boosters that I've talked to said that AD Todd Stewart has been silent about what schools they are.
their a basketball school in the sec i dont know what they expect
good thing ouf offense has kinda stunk it up the last few weeks or they might of gone hard after pease maybe they still will
Joker played for UK, spent his entire coaching career at UK, and was pretty competitive this year (when the team wasn't hampered by injuries).
Kentucky has ALWAYS been Gatorbait, I don't see how it will ever change and frankly I think they just did more harm than good by firing him. Joker was/is a good coach and was good for Kentucky. They're gonna end up with a crappy coach and it'll be more of the same.
I hope Pease's name doesn't get mentioned in their job search.
I want Pease in Gainesville for a long time, but I would love for him to get the job and see Jared Lorenzon have to back off of his comments. He has trashed Pease for a long time, all because Pease was the only coach willing to put him in his place. If Pease got that job, J-Lo's backtracking and denials would be Oscar worthy.
Would be funny, but definitely not worth losing Pease. We desperately need some continuity on the offensive coaching staff.
As a UK fan try living the nightmare. As much as I hate to agree with you I must. I think the fans expectations have now changed for the good. If UK admin messes this up they will be ran out of the state.

Big Blue Madness cost UK the same amount of money as its entire football recruiting budget for the year. That should tell you all you need to know about how out of whack their priorities are. They are only committed to being good at one sport, and that's what is reflected by the results not only on the football field but in every sport besides basketball.

UK actually has a pretty big and loyal football base too. There is potential for them to make plenty of money from that side of things. Sounds like they're not managing their AD very well.
Absolutely correct. Their fans are so ready for a winner. They sold out that stadium left and right for losing teams. The atmosphere in the state when Andre Woodson was on a tear and UK jumped into the top ten was insane.
